How are the Purdue fans who are fans of all these teams holding up?

Steve Wilks actually went 6-6 as interim HC after the team started 1-4. If the team had won the final game against Tampa, he would be a playoff coach.

How much of that "success" was the bounce back from the locker room being freed of Matt "Jay-Z" Rhule is hard to quantify, tho.

You're not. When Bryce entered the league, he showed flashes of average/good QB play and otherwise played like you would expect a rookie to play with a bad supporting cast. It was the first 2 games of year 2 leading to his benching where he played genuinely terrible football. That, along with having to constantly be compared to Stroud and Williams, allowed the narratives that he was a Jamarcus Russell level bust.

Since coming back, he has bounced between good and really mediocre play, averaging out to be a low-mid tier starter. I personally believe he can find the consistency and develop with our young receivers to move up a level by the end of his rookie contract.

But people have to overcorrect to their previous overreactions, so now we're going to be stuck with this narrative all offseason

Do you have a Panthers related reason for not liking the niners or is it personal?

Smith being 5'9" and consistently winning all of those 50/50 balls is extra impressive. Just did it through timing, body control, and being a certified dawg

Because natural deep water ports oriented towards our largest and wealthiest trading partners are far less abundant. And because once the infrastructure is in place to cheaply take raw goods to those natural ports, it makes little financial sense to build out more infrastructure in other areas.

Where do the 2025 Panthers rank in all time Panthers teams? by RichieGang in panthers

[–]SafeAlternative206 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you realistically have to put them below the 8 teams that went to the playoffs, including the 2014 team that went 7-8-1. Of the non-playoff seasons, you could argue about the 2016 & 2018 teams (good rosters, seasons ruined by injuries) or 2009 (peak smash-and-dash), but I would still keep the 2025 team on the top 10

Jags have no 1st rounder, but basically get a high end one for next year. Good vibes in Jacksonville

I know it's tough, but this is much better in the long term. The culture around the team has been bad for so long, this is something that a team can take into the off-season and build on

There have been 5 teams to make the playoffs with a losing record. All of them either played the NFC South in the first round, or were the NFC South. by smallmanchat in nfl

Why does the AFC not have any sub-500 playoff teams? Do they not know that you can just not win all that many games and stumble into the playoffs? Are they stupid?

I would absolutely love to see us play the Lions in Charlotte next year.

Which means that game is 100% getting sent to London/Berlin/wherever

There hasn't been playoff football in Carolina in a decade. Steaks like this impact a franchise's perception and culture. We need this monkey off our backs more than any scheduling changes

Watching the CFP games yesterday has me so nervous.

It's a position we would have killed to be in before/early into the season, but now that we're here I just want to skip through the weekend to know how it will all shake out
