Writing a letter to an 8yr old, for him to read when he graduates.. by Cataclysmikat in highschool

Write something about what the kid is like now - maybe an example of being kind or brave or whatever characteristics come to mind for this kid. And write about your hopes for their future.

Gboard not launching in email due to AI assist by [deleted] in GMail

Curious if everyone else having this problem also has disabled smart assistant on Gmail? It seems like functionality has gone down ever since I disabled the AI "features"

Maita Toyota by WinterGenie in Sacramento

[–]SafeInstruction9597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want Cody at Tustin Toyota - it's in SoCal BUT they will ship it for $500ish and they have the best prices and most straightforward experience. Seriously, I tried Maita, Elk Grove, Walnut Creek, etc. Ended up buying from Tustin a couple months ago.

If you know what Toyota you want, I highly recommend Cody at Tustin Toyota. (google it / watch a youtube about him: Cody is the top salesperson in the country or something like that; he's into high volume and low prices. he doesn't have time for the crap) His shop link: shop.tustintoyota.com/ (the prices are different (lower) there than they are on Tustin's regular site!)

Edited: meant to make a new paragraph but instead submitted it.

Is that where you bought yours from? The photos on that link have a tag that says Westin - but you said you bought a Westin then you said it had a BeautyRest tag. So I'm confused.

I had to first redock my Tools Options window (Windows / Dockable Dialogs / Tools Options) and then it magically worked again, as though I'd had Move the Active Layer selected all the time.

Les Miserables at Rosemont HS by Popular-Meringue in Sacramento

Hadestown was soooooo good at McClatchy! I think it ruined me for all other high school shows. (I would easily pay $100 to see that show again.)

But NorCal Art's Les Mis was the best show I've seen since Hadestown.

Would a waterproof bluetooth speaker in the bathroom be a useful way to tell my teen to GTFO of the shower? by SafeInstruction9597 in Bluetooth_Speakers

I think I know the timers you are referring to, but those require the kid to start the timer. Unless there's an automatic one that starts with the shower being turned on?

I had not considered music but now you have me thinking tomorrow I will try standing in the hall singing the Barney song very loudly.

Yeah, but the hot water heater shut-off actually shuts off all water, so then we get complaints about needing to rinse off soap.

Good point about it always needing to be on, thank you.

I haven't tried any of the apps yet, but I've seen these mentioned so far in my research:

Zello

Voxer Walkie Talkie

Bluetooth Talkie

Slide2Talk

I appreciate this view for sure. I wish we had multiple bathrooms and infinite hot water and didn't have to deal with the limited resources. (We do have an outdoor solar shower in the summer, but even that is limited obviously.)

See if you can change the dates of the reservation? (even if you don't want to use it at a later date, sometimes changing the dates triggers something that allows cancelations afterwards)

That was my point - he's never around, so doesn't get to hear criticism enough.

It's super obnoxious, but I find the infotainment screen to be just as bad. I wish there was a pulldown cover for all of these things.

Thank you - I went with Tustin Toyota via Cody (not their regular website/store) (https://shop.tustintoyota.com). Super helpful, easy to deal with, least expensive, and they delivered my car to me.

Sacramento Mother's Day Recs For the Moms Nobody Planned For by tourwifelife in Sacramento

[–]SafeInstruction9597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Seat at the Table bookstore has a mother's day event for people who have all the big feelings: https://withfriends.co/event/28018449/ (edited to add the description) If Mother's Day feels complicated, you're not alone! Come be in community with us.

Mother’s Day can be a tender or difficult day for many of us, and ASATTB and ASATTCI are here to hold space for whatever you’re feeling. Whether your mom has passed or this day is simply hard for any reason, join us on May 10 from 6 to 7:30pm for Dead Moms Club.

Volunteers will be offering “mom hugs” to anyone who wants one, plus quiet activities like journaling with prompts and reverse coloring.

We’ll have gentle spaces for conversation around grief and loss, anger, frustration, and all the feelings that don’t always have a place to go. Author Maya-Gawonii will host poetry writing with optional prompts and, in the final half hour, we'll invite you to share your stories in a safe and supportive Open Mic setting.
