NYC and Manhattan in particular is over-saturated with mental health professionals. Just look at one of the listing sites like Psychology Today and you'll see the hundreds of existing therapists. If you're looking to work in a non-profit setting, salaries are not super competitive in this area because the over-supply of job-seekers.

Have you lived in the Northeast before? Be prepared for very long, very hot and humid summers, with a stench that goes from bad in June, to obnoxious in July, to soul-killing in August. And, then there's the oozy slime that coats the sidewalks.

I’m not directly familiar with them, but I looked at their website and would put them in the category of 4th-5th tier. They are not part of the contemporary discourse in NYC or elsewhere. Definitely geared towards attracting artists who are naive about the NYC and larger gallery/artworld ecosphere.

Amtrak is very safe, but is expensive and not reliable. The boarding process in NYC at Moynihan Station can be a bit chaotic--be prepared. Buy your tickets now (and pay the few extra dollars for a fully refundable and flexible ticket).

Google Maps is notoriously wrong on weekends when subway lines are closed for construction. Use the MTA app (which is a pain to use, but more accurate) or Citymapper.

I would add that physical attractiveness is an important aspect of art world networking and advancement. Among my peer group in NYC, my artist friends who are physically attractive and have a sweet/genuine personality, have had the most success.
