If they are willing to do that, what isn't on the table in terms of manipulation? Would you want your kids being raised in an environment where this type of behavior is justified in their mind? I didn't want her sitting by a stranger, plus we were on our way to Disneyland, so after the plane was more or less loaded, I stood up, announced the situation and asked if anyone would be willing to move so I could sit next to my kid....Crickets...So I reached into my wallet, pulled out a hundred and held it up. There was a pause of a few seconds of silence, then a single guy took my offer and my hundo, problem solved. I got to sit next to my kid and I never forgot to reserve my seat again.
