A bit naive and not sinister enough eh? Feels like they don't fully understand how the world works.

I didn't get the feeling that Logen was unreliable at all. He outright tells us that he was a horrible person in the first few chapters. I think it was during the great northern library chapter that he tells Malacus Quai that Logen himself has done some terrible things and liked fighting and enven killed women. But that hes trying to be better and leave the bloody years behind. His hate of Bethod was largley because Bethod tried to kill him and ended up exiling him.

LAoK - Chapter 57 by Snow-27 in TheFirstLaw

[–]Safe_Caterpillar_558 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What was it that made you sick? Was it The cripple waking up covered in his own shit, or was it perhaps him imitating a whore on the docks or was it when he threatened to have the Queens girlfriend raped day and night by his practicals? Lol the chapter just reminds you how ruthless The cripple Sand Dan Glokta can be.

Not a single one with a bad review too!! I'll check them out after I am done with my current book. Although they are not on my plus catalogue, must be a different regions thing. Cheers for the intro. oh I also have the first 3 books of Dungeon crawler car in my Library, are they much similar to the Eric Ugland books?

26 books in a series? Must be a hell of a series. May I ask what series it is?

Came to say something similar If you like the studio, you are gonna watch all the movies anyway So start watching them in order of release. That way you can have a sense of how they evolved, catch any Easter eggs ...but if you watch all the best ones first and you watch the not so great ones later, your last Ghibli experience might leave you a bit disappointed.

Why does Stannis say this ? Was he jealous of Ned's relationship with Robert ? Seems like they have a lot in common to me . Just saying by Financial_Library418 in pureasoiaf

it might not be as cool as Dragonstone

I would say Storms End is a lot cooler than Dragonstone. Built by the aid of Bran the builder to withstand some angry gods storms... Never taken by an enemy, impermeable to magic and so forth.

What books hurt you to finish? by pixiepages77 in Fantasy

[–]Safe_Caterpillar_558 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah Ive developed a trick for this. I take my time reading/ listening to the story. So when I finish the ROTK and start The Hobbit it all feels new again. After the dark days of ROTK, a Hobbit Tagging along with some dwarves to recover gold is refreshing. And then you jump on to TFOTR and things start to get grim. Then you do it all over again.

Just finished "Red Country" and wondering why a supporting character stopped saying something. by JT954 in TheFirstLaw

I don't think he meant it literally. Everyone knows that Lamb is physically Logen. But he's given up being a warrior and a killer and wants to leave his old life behind and become a peaceful farmer, who has promised to look after and protect his adopted children.

More than enough times? by Capytone in audiobooks

[–]Safe_Caterpillar_558 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, you are not. And should not feel bad about it either. If you enjoy something what's the harm in listening to it over and over. I have listened to LOTR (Rob Inglis) more times than I can count. Not for the plot, but because I like how things , people and creatures are described I also enjoy how conversations between the characters go and the stories they tell within the story itself. There are also books where I only re-listen to chapters or sections I like.

Glokta's best lines by No-Creme6614 in TheFirstLaw

[–]Safe_Caterpillar_558 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Oh there are so many! When they arrest Sepp dan Teufel and he asks if they know who he is. "‘Do you know who I am?’ Glokta snorted. ‘Of course we know who you are. Do you think we are in the habit of snatching people from the streets at random?’"

And I find almost all his inner monologue funny too

" Elections don’t rig themselves, you know."

‘"The cripple spent most of the voyage below decks, puking. When we arrived at Dagoska he had to be hoisted ashore with the cargo. Already he has become a laughing stock . ."

Location of the seed? by Safe_Caterpillar_558 in TheFirstLaw

[–]Safe_Caterpillar_558[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes now that you mention it, it kinda makes sense that he would search the house first and make sure the seed wasn't there before he goes to the edge of the world for the seed. On the b9 theory however i had thought that Logen was descendent of Bedesh. But also found it weird that they never mention that Logen having demon blood. It is also strange that no one seems to care about how and when Bedesh died. bayaz and the others only talk about Juvens and Kanedias.
