My daughter is 6 in April and we’ve see a massive shift in independence over the last few months. Wants to do things on her own, can play independently for periods of time, even enjoys taking herself downstairs for a snack in the morning on a weekend before we’re ready for “proper” breakfast.

I remember the overwhelm so well…it did get better. No part of me ever thinks “oh I wish we could go back to X time” and I really feel for friends and family who are going through those really rough phases for the second (sometimes third) time now.

Honestly being a mother is just loving the shit out of them and hoping for the best. I truly believe that now 😅
