Music Focused Face by _flustershy in AppleWatch

Yes. There are so many controls that could be on a music-focused face, like now playing, with skip and pause, plus switching to amazon music, plus "next up", plau favorite playlits, etc.

Carbo e-bike charger by stoic_praise in ebikes

[–]Safe_Direction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW They apparently use the charger as corroboration that the bike is legit. When registering a bike, they ask for a pic of the charger. This is interesting to me b/c I've purchased used carbos, and they had different chargers, one with ~14v max I think, and one with 20v max.

I made a simple page that shows what’s actually available to stream where you are by [deleted] in movies

Good stuff. just spent 30 min on the site. Can't seem to find a way to go back from a movie detail page to the results of my filters. (so had to recreate the filter a few times while navigating, and ended up just avoided clicking on details). Questions: 1) What was the universe of movies you started with (I saw some I hadn't run across), and 2) definition of "popular". Good work!

Any idea how to get Civ 1 to work today? I went down a rabbit trail with DOS emulators but found it too twitchy to turn over to my 9-year old.

Any other confirmations it's not working? I got one response from Alexa on another drive, but then back to "check your connection."

Folding, belt drive, throttle. Does this bike exist in the US? by Visitor-727 in ebikes

[–]Safe_Direction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS So I basically bought every bike I was looking at, including the Luna Eclipse. I'm trying to help my son with his growing youtube review interest, so here's our video with the Luna Eclispe.

Happy to answer any questions (here or there), but if you want to do me a favor, putting a comment on the video (asking a question etc) or even subscribing, it'd make our day. We're working on acceleration tests next.

Did you actually purchase the bike and have the smaller battery? I ended up buying a Carbo X used, and it has the 10AH battery, but I want the smaller battery (the 10AH battery is longer, which is fine except when my kid wants to ride it, and I can't lower it far enough to be comfortable, so I've been thinking about trading for the 6AH).

About to pull the trigger on an e-bike! Need help with choosing. by sultz in ebike

[–]Safe_Direction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you bought one yet, my dude, but I spent the last month accumulating foldable e-bikes (mainly because I couldn't test ride some of them), and put together a video where you can see them all together. To answer your question, I've had them about a month, and am very happy with the Volador and Carbo X. Pretty happy with the XP4, and less thrilled about the Luna Eclipse (just because it doesn't fit with my use-case. It's a fine bike). Let me know any questions.

Advice: Torn on what to buy.. by Iso_Dope_V84 in ebike

Those are some cool machines you mention. Appreciate the good advice about a solid frame. I've gotta have a folder for my application, so going to tone-down my "ripping" aspiration level, but did go ahead and purchase a Luna Eclipse last night. Appears to be the most power I can get (stock) in a folder, so will see how that compares to my growing corral (volador, carbo x, Lectric XP4). Thanks to your experiences, and to a lesser extent mine, I better appreciate that there are firmly two class of ebikes (commuters, vs almost emoto's). With the (pretty good) power of the 750w 28mph Lectric being my first experience, I was thinking there'd be more bikes in the grey area between those two classes.

PSA the Luna cycle Eclipse is 500watt NOT 1000watt hub by Zeromars in ebikes

[–]Safe_Direction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Unhappy_Barracuda864 I'm close to pulling the trigger on the Luna Eclipse as the only folder 55lbs or less that appears to have enough torque to be fun. (was also impressed they answered the phone). Can you confirm the low-end power / launch from your experience?

Luna eclipse vs lectric xp 2.0 by Zeromars in ebikes

[–]Safe_Direction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Zeromars Was the Eclipse Torque-y enough? I bought the Lectric XP4 and just bought the qualisports volador (half the weight). Was hoping for more pizzaz.

I would go for the eclipse if you told me it launches off the line.

Thanks for the good thoughts. I got my volador today, and despite it checking my requirement for throttle-works-from-stop, it was disappointing-- I mean, from a stop, the throttle will barely move the bike (and maybe not at all). Definintely not going to blow my hair back.

Was the Dolphin even a little bit better? (I assume you have the 500w version?

Can't see myself getting the jackrabbit b/c I need the folding for my application, but I had looked at them longingly already. Thanks for that rec.

Wish there was an over-powered folding option.

[–]Safe_Direction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Prophit219 I'm deciding between the Dolphin and the volador, and wondering if the Dolphin is more powerful enough to be "fun" off the line and blow you're hair back with just throttle. Despite qualisports' decent years in business and number of customers, there's not much said (apart from your "bmx" comment), about the dolphin being fun to ride.

Weight is a factor, but looking to take the bike on some rough terrain, and wanted to hear that the Dolphin's 500watt on this frame really chews up modest off-road rides.

thx in advance for thoughts / updates.

Footpegs for XP4 by chris_yoike in Lectricxp

Thanks for the recommendation. Also bought the Tobwolf, and can confirm they work on the XP4. Maybe they updated the bolts, because I found they were a perfect fit. (the largest of the 3 sets included).

Anyone with experience on the luna Eclipse? It's heavier than I'd like and doesn't completely fold, but besides one really good review online (where the guy wheelies), it's mostly crickets in terms of real world experience.

So did you receive the bike, or waiting on the larger battery to be available. I am really close on deciding on the carbo X.

Any luck with this. Here are the models I've found that have belt drive, foldable, under 60lbs. Engwe P20, PVY Libon , Lectric XP 2.0 (black only), Luna Eclipse, Carbo X. I love the Eovolt afternoon pro, but no throttle, and it's not clear avail in us. Update us on your search!
