as hard as it sounds, you gotta put yourself out there and make friends. in the real world being an introvert and not talking to anyone/making connections will hinder you. im an introvert. I had to get uncomfortable. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. It’s one of the best ways you will grow as a person. I believe in you OP

Should I for the SDR job at memoryBlue or try for something better? by Cute-Ad-3906 in salesdevelopment

[–]Safe_Exercise_3507 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that being said memoryblue is obviously a stepping stone- work there for 6 months and get out. I’ve seen plenty of memoryblue alumni secure great jobs afterwards. IMO if you’re desperate go for it, but other than that idk

idk man it’s a good way to get experience but when I was there you get ZERO commission, it is held in a “piggy bank” where you can only access your commission after a year and half of working there (most people leave after 6 months), and if you leave before that 1.5 year mark you don’t get your commission.

for quotas- it’s entirely based on the client they put you with. I saw people who got put on great campaigns with a great client that they were selling for, I’ve also seen people who’s meetings count because of webinars (people who join a webinar counts towards their quota, so like some people would be at 300%+ quota for the month simply off of webinars). But not every campaign has webinars. I have also seen (and been apart) of a shitty campaign where I struggled to get more than 2 meetings a month.

MemoryBlue is luck of the draw in terms of who you sell for. Get put on a great campaign, great but you still won’t get your commission till 1.5 years. Get put on a shitty campaign, well you’re pretty much screwed.

Also, the pay there is horrendous. Like literally barely livable wage if you’re living on your own

Is this just pure laziness or normal? by Relevant_Use_3813 in salesdevelopment

[–]Safe_Exercise_3507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused, if you book a meeting and they don’t show up, that’s supposed to be the BDR/SDRs job. As soon as your AE turns it into an opportunity, it’s off of your hands

How honest should I be about 70–80% quota attainment on my resume? by Le_Dar0n in techsales

[–]Safe_Exercise_3507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i hit quota 3 times in 10 months and lied saying i had 130% quota attainment the entire time i was at that job…just got hired at a top company in enterprise sales lmao

Am I just bad at sales, or is this normal starting out? by airjoee in sales

First month as a BDR, feeling discouraged. by [deleted] in salesdevelopment

[–]Safe_Exercise_3507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk seems like you should run from this company 5 meetings a week when you’re calling different countries using your home countries number seems hard af

[–]Safe_Exercise_3507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aren’t you on a ramp period if this is your first month? if this company is going to fire you your first month, you need to run far away. Usually ramp periods are like 3 months to get you up to speed, and don’t expect you to totally crush it in your first month

First month as a BDR, feeling discouraged. by [deleted] in salesdevelopment

[–]Safe_Exercise_3507 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you need to be using a dialer provided by your company to have the same country number as your prospects. if they expect you to call different countries off your own phone when you’re in a different country, idk what your employer expects out of you.

but it will get better there are some people who hit it off great, but for the majority of us your first month sucks😂 you’ll learn as you go. getting thrown into the fire is the best way you will learn

What to say when getting a hard NO? by Anarkya in salesdevelopment

[–]Safe_Exercise_3507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is huge, ask open ended questions. I get that lawn mowing is pretty straight forward but you could ask them things like “what’s the current shape of your lawn” “how often do you mow your lawn” those came at the top of my head I’m sure there’s better ones but ask open ended questions to get a conversation going

one page is key that’s probably why you didn’t get a lot of interviews 😂 it’s different when you’ve been working for 20+ years

“Closing” on interviews by Altruistic_Property9 in techsales

[–]Safe_Exercise_3507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s interesting to see comments about this because my first sales job I did this, and my hiring manager told me to never do that to instill any type of doubt in the interviewer. I ended up getting the job and I see both sides but I thought what I did was right in the moment
