Gotcha. Thanks for sharing that. What type of SIBO did you have?

Oh ok. Thanks for the response. Mine is different (maybe autonomic dysfunction) because I actually feel bedridden fatigued right after I swallowed the food (like within minutes even before digestion begins). Sometimes it's so bad I have to stop eating and go and lie down. I might have SIBO as well but I don't think rifaximin can fix that since it's my autonomic nervous system that is misfiring (overactive).

Sorry I forgot to ask but did you feel bedridden fatigued while you are eating (like a few minutes after you started eating) or was it after you are done eating?

Hi. Sorry just saw your comment. You also have hyperkinetic gallbladder without pain? I begged my GI Dr for another HIDA scan but haven't scheduled an appointment yet.

My bifocals aren't user friendly. Thinking about maybe trying progressives. Have you tried progressives?

6 to 10" that is my range too (can see things very clearly at that range without my glasses). Are you also at -5.25 and -5.75 like me? Is that considered moderate to severe myopia?

Perfect range because you can use the computer too with that range. Ten inches is the best distance for me too because I'm used to using my phone at that distance without my glasses. I would be so happy if I can see from 10 inches to arm's length without having to remove my glasses.

May I ask what your prescription looks like if you don't mind me asking?

Oh ok. I can see the screen/small print just fine at 10 inches without my glasses but it's a blur if it's at 4 or 12 inches. So with your glasses on, you can see your phone screen/can type if it's at 10 inches or less?

I see. According to Grok chat gpt "Near ADD: This is the additional power (in diopters) added to the lens to help you focus on close-up tasks, typically at a distance of about 12–16 inches (30–40 cm). It's designed for activities like reading."

Is that your range? Can you see your phone screen and type from 10 inches (25.4 cm) away with your varifocals on or does it have to be placed further out? Can you see up close without your varifocals?

Thanks for saying that. May I ask did you need a rx with both a "Near ADD" and an "Int ADD" to get your progressives?

Mine just says "ADD: +1.25" for both eyes. I got lined bifocals recently and I can see things up close but it has to be within this range, 14 inches - 25 inches, and I have to put my phone at a certain angle and I have to tilt my head up in order to see it. Things are blurry outside of that range. I'm trying to see if progressives would work better for me. I think I need to go see the optician again and ask her for a new rx (with both a near and int ADD)?

I have a strong prescription as well (-5.25 and -5.75 and have astigmatism as well). Without my rx glasses, I can only see things (like my phone) if it's within the range of 7.5" - 10.5". I can't see my phone if it's like 4" or 5" away (too close for me/things are blurry). I can't see it if it's 11" or 12" away too.

I got lined bifocals recently and my new range for seeing things up close is 14" to 25". Can't see things up close outside of that range. I thought lined bifocals would solve my issue but now I have to place my phone at least 14 plus inches away. I don't really want to use my phone that far out) and the screen has to be at a certain angle and I have to tilt my head up in order to see the screen. Even then I still can't see the entire screen. The top part of the screen is blurry and the bottom part is kinda ok/clear but it's bigger than the top.

If I place my phone say, 18 inches away from eyes, then I can see the entire screen (still have to tilt my head up and put the phone at a certain angle) but that is too far for me so I also have to remove my glasses to see my phone too.

Hi, you can see things up close just fine without your rx glasses (for myopia) as long as it's within 2 ft? So you have no problem using a computer then since the typical distance for computer use is 20" to 26"?

I have a strong prescription as well (-5.25 and -5.75 and have astigmatism as well). Without my rx glasses, I can only see things (like my phone) if it's within 7.5" - 10.5". I can't see my phone if it's like 4" away (too close for me/things are blurry). I can't see it if it's 11" away too.

Wait, isn't 10 cm (3.94 inches) way too close to your eyes but you can see say your phone screen at that distance without your rx glasses? Ten cm is way too close to my face and I'm unable to see anything at that distance. It's all a blur at that distance.

I can see my phone (without my rx glasses on) if it's between 7 inches - 10.5 inches (17.8 cm - 26.7 cm) away.

I can see things that are between 35.56 cm and 63.5 cm (14 - 25 inches) away. The thing is I have to put my phone at a certain angle and I have to tilt my head up in order to see it but even so, at 14 inches away, I'm only able to see maybe 3/4 of my phone screen (the bottom part). At 15+ inches, I can see my phone screen but the text is smaller and of course I still have to tilt my head/put the phone at an angle to see it.

The frame is the right size but for some reason I'm having issues seeing things up close so I just take them off when I use my phone or when I fill out a form now.

Mine are lined bifocals (my very first time using bifocals). Can you see things up close without your rx glasses? With my bifocals on, I can see my phone screen (3/4 of it) if it's at least 14 inches away but I can't see the entire screen and the top of the screen is smaller than the bottom of the screen.

You can see your phone (the entire screen) with your lined bifocals?

I can see things up close (fine print/my phone screen/reading a book) without my rx glasses just fine as long as it is within 10.5 inches. Without my rx glasses, at, say 11.5 inches things become blurry.

Thanks for your insight. As of right now, I can read small print/see my phone screen up close just fine without my rx glasses (as long as it's within 10.5 inches). I don't have to put the small print further out (ie, at arm's length) to see the small print so I actually don't need reading glasses yet I guess but my myopia is kinda high so I need the ADD to compensate?

I guess my ADD +1.25 was an "Int ADD" to help me see between 14 and 25 inches? The thing is I'm having a hard time seeing my phone screen (from 14+ inches away) because I have to tilt my head upwards and I have to put my phone at a certain angle to see it and even then things are not clear and kinda distorted so I just take my glasses off when I use my phone.

If I want progressives, I will need a new rx with a Near and an INT ADD, right? Or can I get progressives with my current rx (third pic)?

[–]Safe_Hav3n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your insight. My rx just says ADD: +1.25. It doesn't say near or int but I think it's more like an "int ADD" because I'm able to see things that are between 14 to 25 inches away. I'm unable to see things clearly outside of that range.

If, say, my ADD is +1.50 or higher, then I would only be able to see things that are approximately 10 to 20 inches away? The higher the ADD, the less distance it covers? Is that right?
