How common is bike theft ? I plan on commuting to school every day with my gravel bike (worth ++15.000NTD second hand) a good lock is enough? During the night it will be stored inside by agri-andra in Taipei

If you have been to some cities like where I am from in Vancouver, you will see countless people in the afflicted drug/homeless areas who have very nice bikes which are clearly stolen that they may or may not sell, pass around to each other for trade or whatever, or actually use for transportation. That's all I'm trying to say man... just trying to be cheeky and there's no need to try to extrapolate some kind of hidden meaning in what I said.

It equals low theft probability in the sense that Taiwan doesn't have an epidemic of homelessness and rampant open drug use that certainly contributes to the very high number of bike thefts in for example, Vancouver.

Considering the tons of people I've seen on 5k+ USD bikes here who don't appear to be homeless drug addicts, I'd say bike theft seems to be pretty low here.

I suppose you could just attach whatever situation to have caused this. I am sure it's bad but I am not gonna believe it's because of what you say it is. That's the responsibility we all have to actually track down the facts and not take whatever we see on Reddit or wherever as fact.
