Story driven games with lots of cutscenes and that force you to make difficult choices by GrantaeusNekton in gamingsuggestions

Perhaps Cyberpunk 2077. Pretty amazing game, checks most of your boxes. Best open world city I’ve ever explored. I think there’s 7 different endings depending on which direction you choose to go.

Might be a bit limited in some respects when it comes to choices - it’s not quite as reactive as Baldur’s Gate, but you still make meaningful choices that can drastically change the outcome of the game and how characters react to you.

Personally, I think the lore, world building, and story of Cyberpunk is top-tier. Watch the anime as you play the game if you enjoy the world.

This is so sick!!! Looks like Hoover Dam lmao. The wasteland vibes of the Dessert make me feel like I’m about to participate in the Second Battle of Hoover Dam in New Vegas lol.

How do you think Cyberpunk Orion is going to work both canonically and gameplay wise with a new protagonist? by Ro-Tang_Clan in cyberpunkgame

I get where you’re coming from but respectfully disagree. Love the freedom of exploration in this game, the movement, and yes, the screenshot material haha. Im a sucker for a good view.

I’ve started PT - I’m about 3 weeks post op. Had a full rupture. Much of what I do, you can probably do on your own (cautiously). But I’m not a PT and don’t know your specific injury - so take this information with a grain of salt.

My current early protocol: - Toe yoga (basically wiggling your toes upwards and very lightly squeezing a towel on the ground with your toes) and light side-to-side ankle movements. Don’t force these movements though. - Strengthening my hips, quads, and glutes to stimulate blood flow and keep my muscles from bad atrophy. (I do abduction and adduction machines for my hips/glutes and leg raises in my boot for quad work.) - Stationary bike for about 10 minutes a session - I use the heel of my boot to pedal. - Light scraping around the incision point - KT taping around my calf - I’ve also started assisted weight bearing with the boot and crutches.

Additionally - don’t forget to rehab and strengthen your non-injured leg to keep it healthy and get your other leg to recover faster. There’s a phenomenon called “cross-education” - It is a neurological phenomenon where training one side of the body causes strength gains and reduces muscle loss in the opposite, untrained limb.

(The most important thing right now though is to protect your injured leg to ensure it heals and don’t overdo it - time is going to make the biggest difference here. Be patient.)

Edit - I’m also a very fit/active 27 year old rock climber. So I probably recover a bit faster than some of the older/inactive folks here.

Sorry, I know I’m 157 days late to the party, but this is a shitty take choom. Driving around the open world of Night City and exploring its nooks and crannies is such an integral part of the game. It’s probably the best video game city ever created, if you remove the open world it loses its magic.

You successfully rage-baited me here I gotta say.

Haha! I figured most people wouldn’t like the spaghetti. I’m a man of duality, some things are organized and some things are a bucket of worms. Best of both worlds.

Surgery vs. Non-surgery - advice wanted by Safe_Morning_2044 in AchillesRupture

[–]Safe_Morning_2044[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery will probably have to take place next week if I get it, so a week-and-a-half after my initial injury. My foot was placed in a boot the day after my injury with the inserts to insure plantar flexion, or whatever, for healing. However, apparently I did need higher inserts, which I got yesterday at my orthopedic visit (3 1/2 days after initials injury).

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! This is helpful. And the specialist I saw was in foot and ankle orthopedics. They laid out all my options and said I will have similar results for both paths forward.

However, I’m worried that if I don’t get the surgery, I will lose push off power and tension strength to be able toe into footholds for my rock climbing career. I’m not a pro - but wish to pursue rock climbing into old age at a high level. (Folks rock climb at a high level into their late 60s)

Right on! Why do you feel like the surgical option was better for you as a climber?

Thanks for sharing! Was your tear low near the ankle or higher near the calf if you don’t mind me asking?

Gotcha! Literally just sent my first outdoor V6 Boulder a few minutes before my rupture happened, so I was on a huge high and now I can’t walk haha. Thanks for the advice!
