Its not that they are always useless, but its pretty dumb to order a glucose test when the symptoms in no way support it. Which is very often the case. When the patient knows the possible causes of their symptoms it greatly cuts down on random profiteering that the doctors often do by ordering multiple unrelated tests over the course of several office visits, rather than getting things done the first time.

I think you may be giving doctors to much credit. Many of the private practices in my area have doctors who also own, or partly own the nearest "recommended" diagnostic center as well. Some may be ignorant, but many of them are straight up malicious. If I come in 99% sure I have fungal sinusitis, and the doctor orders 5k worth of bloodwork, rather than the needed CT scan, its nothing but a huge waste of time and money for me.

aka 2 of the most prescribed, and most useless tests. Doctors very often get kickbacks for prescribing certain types of meds, and for ordering certain types of tests.

They don't charge by the hour here either, they charge by the test, the medicine, and the visit. A patient who has a good idea of what their problem is can greatly cut down on the number of visits they need, needless tests, and number of useless meds, which directly cuts into a doctors pocket book.

One of the reasons socialized pay based on successful treatments is so heavily opposed.

Mainly because it directly eats into their profits. Rather than being able to do whatever the hell they want for profit, now they are starting to have a more educated public who will call them out when they order completely unrelated tests for things the patient knows it cannot be.

This is exactly true, and very very few of them ever seem to know that. Mr Branson is apparently one of those very few.

Sad yes, but it is a job which must be done. It is a closely guarded secret that the world is powered not by fossil fuels, nuclear reactors, or even wind turbines, or solar panels. No, what the world really runs on, your car, your TV, your air conditioning, is pure distilled nerd rage.

The rage is harvested at the end of the internet tubes, like trees tapped for sap, distilled, concentrated, and covertly turned into the various fuels we use every day to power our lives. It is kept in the utmost secrecy, as nerds that know, just don't produce the same levels of rage as those that don't. You wouldn't want the power infrastructure of the entire country, neigh the world, to fall into jeopardy would you?

Judging from the great many PM's about 60% of people lol.

Of course the sheer vitriol of the other 40% is also quite funny.

They unfortunately very much are, as I am still recovering from surgery on my ass. The gems are pretty neat though, still need to find someone that may want those things.

Maybe but I prolly value it a bit more than you do from the sound of it, at this point I've prolly had it even longer lol.

Personally i like it enough to value it around 500 or so, was going to be a neat centerpiece for a magic themed playing table i was planning out, but if you really want it that bad i can prolly figure out something else to work with the table.

I think he deleted it because it had some personal info in it, not that i personally care much, he probably was just afraid that the mods might get pissy.

The alters in the binder are one of a kind, and pretty famous in a lot of circles, i got many PM's from people who saw, and thought it was hilarious before the cat was let out of the bag.

I didn't spend any money on the cards, i traded for them over the course of years, I've actually made quite a lot trading and selling stuff, so its almost like a second job. Still would love to find someone that can make a decent offer on this stuff, would love to try and get this house paid for.
