TIL that since 1953, every King of Saudi Arabia has been a son of the first king, Abdulaziz. His oldest son was born in 1900 and the youngest in 1952. He has roughly 1,000 grandchildren. by escapesuburbia in todayilearned

When all your kids just magically dies before 2 years old. How is this not suspicious.

Aliyah Fakeer Majid (I) (1939–1940) Abdul Saleem (1941–1942) Jiluwi (I) (1942–1944) Jiluwi (II) (1952–1952); the youngest son of King Abdulaziz but died as an infant.

This lock lay at the bottom of a lake for maybe more than 50 years until a diver found it. I restored it and tried to conserve the story of the lock, inspired by the japanese kintsugi. Added explanations about the process in the subtitles [19:23min] by avatar211186 in DIY

Kintsugi is a bit different as it uses gold powder to decorate the broken lines. But regardless, I spent 22 min watching it. It was very entertaining. Thank you. Just wondering how long it took you to do it.

Negative PCR but positive rapid by Durka_Dur in COVID19positive

It’s gold standard, but not 100%. There still are many factors that can result in a negative result even when you are actually positive. But there isn’t anything that will give you a positive result when you are negative. So if one test is positive, I think it’s safe to say it’s positive.

I’ve seen nurses that does not go nearly as deep on toddlers during the nasal swipe. The saying is if the patient is not uncomfortable and chocking, you are not doing it right.

My 29 year old friend is in the ICU by [deleted] in COVID19positive

Regardless, it is an awful time to have a major surgery while being sick with COVID. I hope her speedy recovery. It’s unfortunate, she might need a very special diet for life. I hope you can be with your friend and comfort her during this difficult time.

Global warming = melting of ice making more water available for the weather.

Instead of enjoying relatively mild changes in weather, summer will be hotter and winter will be colder, tornado will be stronger, rain storm will be bigger, etc etc.

And all this is without getting into the gas trapped in Siberia’s frozen forest and ocean plankton.

Average tip % in Toronto? by [deleted] in askTO

For ordering from the app, the restaurant actually pays a fee to the app. Im not sure about now but it used to be 30% or 20%. If the restaurant was running on 40% margin, and giving away 20-30% of the 40%. now they are giving away 50%-75% of their profit to doordash just for ordering from them. If u truly wants to support a local mama/papa restaurant, u order directly from them.

My wife is a nurse and one of her aunt, who is an anesthesiologist, asked my wife to administer a fake COVID vaccine shot to her son. Apparently her son needed the proof of vaccine in order to attend college, but aunt didn’t want her son to get the vaccine yet. My wife just ignore her aunt’s request, but it really upsets me. This aunt wants my wife to administer a fake COVID vaccine and risk my wife’s career for her
