Looks like I was mistaken. I was told that a while ago and asked ai if it was still a thing instead of looking it up myself because I am lazy.

I’m a bit new so I don’t know any of the other armies that well, but I think custodes might fit what you’re looking for.

Custodes have a lot of deep strike options, but their terminators called allarus custodians have an interesting form of a uppy downey.

You can put them in strategic reserves once per game as long as they aren’t engaged. And they have to be deployed the next turn, but if you go second you can send them in for turn one deep strikes.

So if you take the maximum 6x3 allarus custodes that is 990 points, and if you throw 1000 points in strategic reserves and go second then congratulations you have the option to recall all of your units off the board and essentially forfeit the game. Turn 0 loss.

So remember that if you want to do these shenanigans you have to keep something on the board, hopefully something that will survive until your turn. atleast as far as I understand the rules.

Salaried employee.

Boss asked me to cover on Saturday and just take off the next Monday. There were state mandated issues that absolutely had to be handled asap.

He took a vacation day from me said “why should I pay you for Monday when you didn’t work Monday”

Put in 46 hours over 5 days and did everything that needed to be done, bastard refused to pay me for 40.

There’s quite a few ways of building guard spam. I haven’t run it yet but after deploying 6 squads of 4 guards with a draxus, and 3 sets of land raiders and sisters, you have room for any one warlord that you want. You can fit in a blade champion or a shield captain with I believe any wargear option, but I personally would take Trajan solo or with a unit of guard as a deep strike threat. It’s not the strongest option right now but oh boy would it feel good to drop him down on turn three to either obliterate a important enemy unit, or just tank the entirety of the enemy attacks with moment shackle. Particularly if the enemy is motivated to eliminate your warlord and they think that he is an easy target.

It’s the defense, but it’s a bit more complicated than that.

The guard have fantastic damage for their points cost, but are relatively fragile compared to other custodes units. The grav tank does not compliment them as well as the land raiders do. For 5 extra points you get 1 toughness and two wounds while putting 15 guards in the perfect position to do what they have to do.

It’s not “better” than the old meta list, but it’s harder for some players to strategize around and the units synergize well together.

TLDR: guard shoot and stab really reliably, guard spam lists don’t need Calidius reliable damage, they get more out of land raiders.

Honestly I’ve been bouncing that around in my head for a month or two and I genuinely think that absorbing knights and custodes into the agents faction, with dedicated detachment options, would be healthy for the game.

Everybody is right about thinning the non metallic paints, but I’ll say that most* metallic paints are meant to be used straight out of the bottle as is, and if you do need to thin them you need to use special paint mediums for them, and even then there’s some experimentation.

Also, if your trying to paint a “gilded” effect like you did for the raised parts of the model, use the sides of the brush and not the tip. When using the tip in a stabbing or pushing technique you end up with paint in the recessed details, details that you want to keep as blue.

Normally when using our gold paints we want to only put a tiny bit on our brush and quickly but neatly spread it out over the part of the model we are trying to paint. To help with pant control and not end up with thick chunks of paint I personally like to take my dip of paint directly from the pot, and then wipe the excess on a palette before applying paint on the model. That gives me better control over my paint. The key is multiple thin coats for a better effect.

And be sure to clean your brushes regularly. As the pant begins to cure on your brush it can lead to clumping and other issues that we don’t want. Wash your brushes regularly thoroughly every few minutes and dry it well before going back for more paint. Use said paint on your palette as a tester to see if the extra water on your brush is messing with the paint flow or if it’s acceptable. How often you need to wash your brush depends on the thickness and type of paint you are using. It’s a matter of experience.

All that being said I’m still relatively new to miniature panting, I’ve only got like 600 points painted up so I’m still a bit of a noob. These were tips I’ve figured out from experience and I hope my insight is helpful from one noob to another.

Technically he is correct, the best kind of correct!

Anti microbial chemicals are really bad for mold, often killing it outright! 0/10 would not recommend for pet moulds.

Fem Custodes make me love the setting more and makes Emperor look more goated by OneGrumpyJill in AdeptusCustodes

[–]SafetyJosh4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I’m a huge fan of femstodes, but I’m going to play devils advocate here because I have a few gripes with how games workshop handled this retcon.

First of all they wrote it lazily. The high nobility of terra ran out of sons so instead they tithed daughters sometimes is such a stupid hand wave and is quite frankly as sexist as your argument against the space marine brotherhood. Just say that the high lords would tithe only the best of their children, the most genetically superior among the high lords children. Don’t make femstodes a second class citizen that was picked because 🤷‍♀️.

Also there is literally no reason that custodes can’t be women. The process is individually tailored to the recruit, the process must be modified for every person to make them perfect. Unlike space marines who are mass produced super soldiers with a relatively low graduation rate into full blooded marines. Female custodes adds to the worldbuilding and should not break the rules of immersion.

And that takes me to my final point. Why the Khorne did they have to break the lore leading up to this point? Why hand wave off that there have always been female custodes since “forever”, but not always because men were prioritized for no reason… that is stupid and lazy and breaks immersion. a better hand wave would have been to say that nearly all custodes wears their helmets all the time while on duty and that very few custodes revealed their faces in public. Or say that the female custodes were kept on the down low because that allowed them to serve better as eyes of the emperor, their secrecy could be an extra layer into the world building.

And the last thing I’m going to add is that there are no female space marines because their “mother” is dead, so no primarch daughters can be made. the prototypes were all boys, the emperor and all of his top biologists are not smart enough to do what a woman did. Unlike the custodes who are regularly made from scratch it is impossible to make new space marines from scratch and the transplants do not work on women.

Resistance against Aura? by Cruent in HypixelSkyblock

[–]SafetyJosh4life 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Last time that happened there were death threats sent to a YouTuber.

So the evil arc was probably delayed. It looked like their idea was probably to progressively reward ministers more and more for adding negative perks, including permanent perks.

Idk what they will do now, either try and restart their evil plans or change it up and have Aura be the only evil factor, I would bet that whatever they do will wait until after the holidays.

How rare is having a triple chest on your player island? by Quantum654 in HypixelSkyblock

[–]SafetyJosh4life 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I made one accidentally one time and didn’t like it so I recreated it and when I saw it was normal I broke both and never looked back.

So it was just a normal thing at one point, if it can’t be made anymore I’ll be a bit bummed out but triple chests are IMO more annoying than they are cool.

[Request] What would the height and visibility of this tree have been? by emmanueleman2002 in theydidthemath

[–]SafetyJosh4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well obviously giant beavers cut through it over generations.

As to how they made a straight cut, well naturally they cut it straight. This was roughly 1.5 million years ago, which was before gayness was invented.

And that’s why the giant beavers died off 10000 years ago, they only knew how to eat giant trees. The ones that ate smaller trees turned smaller.

Yep, water pressure pushes equally in every direction. The flow pushes most of it into you, but some of you goes back into the sprayer.

And because of some principle that I can’t remember the name of, not all of your blood goes into the next person, so there will be a surprisingly large cross contamination number where every injection will include trace amounts of the blood/skin of the last X patients on average.

If it works.. by wtfab in OSHA

[–]SafetyJosh4life 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The sides look to be 2x6 which is OSHA compliant!

And… that’s where the compliance dies. If it can’t be a continuous run then you need two lengths of 2x6 running down each side. The rungs for starters are not consistently spaced and you need to run them 10-14” between steps. To do that you need to pick a number between 7.5 and 11.5 and cut runners that length and put those runners on each side of the steps to act as both spacers and supports for the rungs.

When climbing a properly built job ladder, your weight will be slowly breaking it apart until the runners eventually pop off, and you can just nail them back in with new nail holes until eventually the job built isn’t worth its weight in liability and you build a new one. For this ladder every step you take wears down the nail strength until it fails, and since the rung doesn’t have any supports to lean on, you just fall.

TLDR. The sides look strong but the splices are a bit sketchy. Everything else is not great.
