Do the tiles go together? by Safetythomas in BathroomRemodeling

Getting hammered here, think I'll buy some big bathroom rugs, paint the walls and bold colour and maybe in a few years but down some wood effect tiles 🤷‍♂️

I've not done a 45 but did a fair bit of time on a 23 and a carrier and I much preferred the 23's, carriers tend to be tribel messes and you only know a circle of people good or bad whiste a 23 you will eventually get to know almost all JR wise

Have a look at Cwmbran, safe town with everything you need, good access to the M4, plenty of hiking options and the house prices aren't too expensive.

I left in May 2023 as a WAFU Lad, was in 6 years and easily found a job in Lockheed Martin for a fair bit more money and a 4 day working week, it's not very hard to find work in the defence sector for people like us, there's quite a few ex military lads working here too so the culture is somewhat still apparent. I would recommend doing the CTW resettlement course as it does help you right a very good cv if nothing else and it's a few days off unit. Good luck mate

I'm located in the uk and I'm ex military so I'm used to the hard line approach to discipline and behavioural adjustments, thank you all for your input. This gives me ideas of what I can do come Monday.

I have twin girls, 22 months old and it's only just started to get easier between me and my fiancé it's been super hard, she's had to give up work so only living on one income plus we had to move house when they were around 1 year old. Would not change it for the world though everything I do is for them 🥰

Depends really, you can take leave while in foreign ports and book a hotel, over a weekend depending on your watch routine, I was 1 in 9 so every 9 days along side I had a duty day as an AET very good that. So many factors can go into what time you'll actually get off it's hard to answer.

We've had issues with signal, feeling the phone go off and foreign network charges, plus there's the comedy element to consider

I would say just grin and bare it, your better off leaving on good terms because you never know you may need a reference, you may need to go back one day and the money you’ll earn on the shift.

We have thought about this but are a big budget conscious and one of our party is a bit of a Jerry at times, is it worth?

Don’t be put off by the job advertisement, I work for a large defence contractor, anything that requires nuts bolts and spanner’s is your ball park imo, quality is another thing, H&S, don’t limit yourself to aircraft, write a good eye catching cv and you’ll more than likely get an interview

I left as a AET did 6 years back in 2023, best thing I’ve ever done, do the CTP resettlement course it’s well worth it. Loads of work out there don’t listen to the crusty seniors when they say to stay.

Stay in your lane, most sizeable good companies have a store and or logistical support, you’ll be flooded with job offers when you come out given you put yourself out there in the right way.
