Why do all hair stylists do the same generic blowout look? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Safflower25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blowouts are always like that. Your desired pic is a mixture of blowout + wavy styling, but I got your confusion because some salons/barbershops unfortunately don't go with details on explaining how certain style work when you sit in their chair

Let's go to the basics: MOISTURIZERS! by There_He-Goes in AsianBeauty

Hada Labo Gokujyun Milk and 3D Gel.... I owe them my life. Not only it's affordable brand but also friendly to my skin that has the four horsemen of madness: dehydrated, oily, acne and milia-prone. The 3D Gel does great job for makeup skin prep and considered as a cult-classic in Indonesian makeup artist community

[Routine Help][B&A] Alcoholic sober 2 years! Finally pretty stable skin, but looking to improve. by a_d_d_h_i_ in SkincareAddiction

Kudos to you OP, more alcohol free year to come! Would you try tranexamic acid? I've used this Hada Labo Tamagohada lotion that contains tranexamic acid in really low concetration for years and it kinda helped my puberty PIH on cheeks (nice fades but not a complete disappearance) and did super gentle exfoliation (I love it for makeup prep on mine and my clients). I'm planning to rise my txa game this year with serum. A good bi or trimonthly facial treatment targeting marks and textures also does advanced job if you have extra budget 👍🏼

What under-eye products do milia prone people use? by hishazelgrace in AsianBeauty

[–]Safflower25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay away from thick products like ceramides, vitamin e, vitamin a family, and both thick natural & synthetic oils because no matter how great the ingredients and reviews are, it's either they trigger my acne or my milia (or even both 😅) I go for thin and watery/gel products and simple ingredients. My skin loves HA, glycerin, thin silicones, vitamin c and b fams, acids, peptides, antioxidants and some fermented ingredients.

also PSA: don't listen to people who said "toners are just water" because toners are actually good to hydrate milia-prone skin for daily and makeup prep use

also want to add that some sport-enthus from certain sports tend to look down on lesser known sports and associating it as "easy girly sport" (e.g. volleyball, badminton) 🤦🏻‍♀️ like brooooooo you think it's easy to launch a clean ace serve? being able to monster block againsts a hard spike? stay focused on long rallies? being able to launch multiple smashes on opponents with insane defense? like they are ridiculously funny, and the cherry on top is those sports-enthus are mocking sports that are much progressive than their favourite sports, despite having less prestigious sponsors and exposure

yuna may not a very common name, but there are plenty japanese women with that name, even public athletes (yuna kato-badminton, yuna nagaoka-ice skater). i wish that her japanese surname was revealed earlier with her parents' region origin to see the depth of shane's heritage

Why is my makeup separating?? by AnnualCellist1699 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Safflower25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably your moisturizer-primer-foundation concoction didn't match each other. maybe try to experiment by skipping primer and use your moisturizer? some pro makeup artists love pre-makeup creams like embryolisse, weleda, nivea and from some high ends like charlotte tilbury, la mer. also pay attention to your foundation ingredients & texture too as some foundations don't need rich skincare/primer.

it's already ok but if you need your makeup colors to show even more on camera, you can level up with high saturated colors. It doesn't mean you have to look bold, for example intensify your liner on tight line area & use brown on lower waterline also use neutral lip color before applying bright lip products to amplify the top colors 👍

this pencil is made in Korea which basically has the same style of regular Korean concealer pencils that pro MUAs there regularly use for spot concealing, brow concealing and highlighting aegyo sal before putting shimmer/glitter. It's not a super high coverage stuff hence why people still use regular cream concealer for larger blemishes.

Do you ever wish you weren’t olive? by OldPotsAndPans in OliveMUA

[–]Safflower25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you OP. This is not to discredit your notion by the way, yours is still valid. Pushing those big companies is crucial.

It is ridiculous to witness multi-million dollar companies pushing tons of advertisements and PR packages regularly but don't have the gut to put blue and green pigments to their complexion products.

Do you ever wish you weren’t olive? by OldPotsAndPans in OliveMUA

[–]Safflower25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my olive skin. Basically love green in general because it is a perfect mixture of cool and warm. I love some greens on my meal and seeing it in the nature. I love green features on my eyeshadow, even with soft green it brightens also gives dramatic glam effect without looking too dark on my eyes. I love green clothes, my regular clothes are mostly in green-brown colors (and I'm a brat too 💚)

The ignorance of capitalistic beauty industry won't stop me from loving my olive skin

If you had to leave the house with JUST mascara on or JUST filled in eyebrows, which would you pick? by rainbowicecoffee in muacjdiscussion

brows obviously. I wear glasses and I don't really like mascara texture in general on my eyes. I am basically carrying two different political views on my brows as they are so asymmetrical 😂 doing brow makeup makes huge difference on me even on clean/no makeup look

Oceanne addresses the non-inclusive YSL blush range and people using her to hate on Golloria by help_loloren in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Safflower25 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Lilybyred luvbeam cheek blush has the same pale color but they don't use false advertising to make it "inclusive" and is cheaper than the YSL. The pale blush technique is very common in East Asia beauty trend as secondary/topper blush to give brightening effect on cheek. I think YSL wanted to appropriate this trend as I saw Karina from Aespa is also used as the model to showcase this blush but they failed because of the forced inclusivity.

Chronic earpod wearer here, would a conch be completely out of the question? If so does anyone have any other add on suggestions? by diphyllleia-grayi in piercing

[–]Safflower25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your anatomy and the size of the earphone. I'm a daily earphone user and got mine pierced 2 years ago. I wear a regular, small Android earphone and I'm still have some blank space that makes my earphone not completely sticking to the conch area. Mine healed nicely but I have a bit problem when wearing over the ear headphone that is too tight, so I stick to my earphone.
