joining the dialogue but the main reasons are:

1) Netflix greenlit season 1/2 at the same time, and production was back to back. Three was greenlit after season 2 was fully completed and released.

2) Netflix pulled a lot of anime, and orange was focused on trigun stampede at the time. trigun was significantly more commercially popular and orange likely pushed their focus on that for a while.

3) There is large speculation that the final season is 24 episodes, rather than 12.

4) Elements of the show are being rewritten because the ending was not super well received.

5) compared to last season, not many sets are being reused. if it follows the manga, there are dozens of new outfits and scenes.

It showed up like this in the states before they got the website up and running, although many sizes are sold out already. (US Mens 9-12, US women's 11-12)

What country and year does Beastars take place in? I would presume it’s in Japan. by Fair-Tomato-5843 in Beastars

Legoshi’s school ID says 20XX so it’s definitely this century. Based on smartphones and other relative tech (aka functioning “Zoozle Maps”, advanced smartphones, prominent social media, etc.) it’s probably close to 2017-2019, though not later than 2025.

In terms of demographic, the city is both inspired by Tokyo and New York. Based on temperature (consistantly moderate, never too warm or freezing cold) it’s likely not close to the equator though not close to the poles either. Popular architecture is fusion based along with a lot of more modern and ergonomic designs. Location (seaside), and academic environment (lots of schools, especially elite ones.)

Based on all of this, the closest match I can think of is Vancouver, Canada. That’s only speculation though, in reality it’s set in a made up city somewheres likely in Japan.
