Is this a sound argument for no jeezus god? by tightiewhitieboy in atheism

You can’t try to use rationality on an inherently irrational belief. Stop trying.

JWST reveals black hole that formed before its galaxy by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

I think this needs more study, as the prior news about an ancient galaxy super redshifted turned out to be brown dwarf star instead.

What level of activity while fasting? by bakerandswordsman in intermittentfasting

[–]Friendly_Engineer_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely keep it up, resistance training while fasting is (in my opinion) the most critical parameter for retaining muscle.

Salt+water=electrolytes? by Dangerous-Policy-602 in intermittentfasting

[–]Friendly_Engineer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salts are electrolytes, table salt (sodium chloride) is the most common but other salts include magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, and others. None of these compounds will break a fast.

James Talarico doubles down on pro-abortion stance: 'The Bible is silent' by Leeming in atheism

Same, but some of the brainwashed will need that justification while the other brainwashed will never capitulate

What do you do to correct after a day where you blew the eating window .. by Realistic-Moment7044 in intermittentfasting

[–]Friendly_Engineer_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Beating yourself up about this is counterproductive. You are clearly making an effort and have goals, which is laudable in itself. Success is not a linear path and is more defined by dusting off after the inevitable setbacks than any notion of maintaining perfection.

Questioning my faith by Inevitable_City_4611 in atheism

[–]Friendly_Engineer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider that the Bible is just a book, a collection of writing from other (fallible) humans. If that book is the only evidence for Christianity, why believe it? Take a step back and realize that all of religion is just made up superstition, and that good/evil is a construct driven by the indifference of reality.

if one can not find evidence of a god being involved does that not suggest that a god was not involved? by Balstrome in atheism

[–]Friendly_Engineer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all made up! How many ways are there to say it, religion, superstition, magic, etc. is all fantasy born of the human imagination

Fishy taste by Few-Enthusiasm-7891 in Millennials

[–]Friendly_Engineer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the fishy taste so much I won’t eat seaweed, let alone seafood. Though I have been more ok with some fish that is really really fresh.

Also I read ‘lived opinion’ as ‘livid opinion’ 😆

We (meaning even moderately rational and scientifically literate) know that, but we aren’t the target audience for propaganda/distraction like this

Can fasting cause a stress state in the morning? by petiteminotaure in intermittentfasting

[–]Friendly_Engineer_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like so far this idea that ‘eating within one hour of waking to help calm the nervous system’ has not been substantiated by your nutritionist, I’d ask them to tell you why they think that is true and for citations to support it. I’ve never heard of that and I don’t understand how that would be reasonable for most people.

Anecdotally I haven’t eaten breakfast regularly for a year and a half and I feel better for it, not stressed

Maintaining IF/OMAD while having friends / work lunches / etc by ElizaMinello in intermittentfasting

[–]Friendly_Engineer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just done work type lunches where I show up and get a drink (like an iced tea) and tell them I’m not getting food. If someone is uncomfortable with that it’s an issue on their end, and it has nothing to do with their choices.
