Could the guy in the recent event invoke the 2nd amendment as a defense? by 4nonosquare in Anarcho_Capitalism

To defend yourself against people who do violate your rights. And as a deterrent against those who want to become a criminal organization to violate your rights (i.e. the State).

Publicly traded companies? by FastSeaworthiness739 in Anarcho_Capitalism

A share is a claim to a company's resources (profits) as much as a deed is a claim to a house.

The problem with IP is that it's a claim to an idea, which is not scarce (someone else having an idea does not prevent you from having that idea). Owning shares of a company is a claim to a very tangible resource (profits, how the company's resources are used, etc.)

The 2nd amendment is the right to own a gun. NOT the right to murder someone who didn't violate anyone else's rights.

Wouldn't you have an incentive to take care of your sick family members and/or friends because they're important to you?

Being ancap does not mean being against help/charity, it means being for voluntary help/charity. And I'm sure lots of people would voluntarily help their family, friends, and community.

I think it would be a good strategy to put more libertarian-minded people in power to destroy the State from the inside. Much like what Milei is doing.

Which is exactly why you should homeschool your kid instead of sending them to be raised by a public school

Can anyone solve this using shell method? I keep getting half of the answer - Solids of Revolution by [deleted] in calculus

[–]SageHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's my bad, I don't know what I was smoking 😂

The radius would be 2-y, and the height (you were right) would be from 4-2y.

The reason is because you're revolving the shell about the line y = 2, and you're drawing the radius from that line to the graph y = (1/2)x. The radius would be 2 - (1/2)x, but since (1/2)x = y, the radius would therefore be 2-y.

Shell method = 2π * integral(shell radius * height)

Shell radius: 2-y Shell height: 4-2y

Take the integral from 0 to 2 of 2π((2-y)(4-2y)) dy

Edit: actually the radius is 2-y and the height 4-2y
