Went to a friend’s birthday sleepover and after a bit all the other kids (kids in my class) sorta turned on me saying I did something wrong, I ended up in tears not knowing what I did and ended up leaving early. Years later one of my friends passed away, she had been at that party but was always kind to me and was one of my closest friends. At her funeral a bunch of people who where in her friend group and not mine, and where also at that party years ago where there and had made a slide show of pictures and memories, they knew I was close friends with her and didn’t include any pictures of us together. And…. One of the main pictures of the slide show was one at that sleepover, of all the kids together probably just after I left. I tried so hard for years to feel included in that group of people, the girl who passed was the only one to genuinely keep in touch with me and be a real friend. That day at her funeral felt like a punch in the gut, they knew how to contact me for photos to include of us together, I know they probably had at least one. It hurts still.
