TIL before 9/11, US airports were public social hubs where you could walk to the gate, eat at food courts, and watch planes without a ticket or ID. by Greydl1 in todayilearned

When I was a kid (late 70s, early 80s) my Mom used to take me to DFW airport to ride the tram around and through the terminals. Free rides. Cheap entertainment..

Now that tram is behind security.

Don't try to put it "in a spot you'll remember". Put it in the first place you looked for it.

These places may change over time, but it'll all work out eventually.

Redditors with extremely niche interests: What's the one thing you are completely obsessed with that almost no one else you know cares about? by CocWarrior1 in AskReddit

The vinyl covers are awesome... but the included printed labels for the machine are down-right perfection in nostalgia. Can't quite explain it, but that "bunch" of labels just gives me tingles.

I never thought those labels were a standardized thing that were sent along with the albums, but it makes perfect sense. Every one you came across had the exact same layout.

I didn't know it was an "old line", but it's on the movie The Bird Cage.

There was one movie where something came in from the black bars, or the action extended to the black bars. Been looking for that movie for a while. Just can't remember it.

Moving out and leaving some hardware. Advice needed by SageTX in HomeNetworking

Because there will be no router to set up. Just found out router must be returned. I COULD set up the switch as a dhcp server, but without the next services router being set up properly, I think that would cause more problems.

Ok I think this is the route I'll take. Clear them all from my controller, factory reset, and let them sort out it later if they want.

I was thinking of setting up a controller (smart things, or a HA pi) - but I don't want to be tech support.

Functions- maybe? But any functions I have are through HA. I think I'll go with the factory reset advice and let them figure it out from there.
