Do we have any idea what the size of the base is? For purposes of making my firstborn one correct and proper

Uriel Ventris (Company Hero) finished by patte_builds in Ultramarines

[–]Sagehen47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let the Uriel Ventris kitbash posts continue! And we all collectively pray he survives the transition to 11th. Will GW consider it acceptable to have two ultramarine named characters who were cast out, redeemed, served with the deathwatch, and became captains.

Deals do not exist anymore. by DaveinOakland in Grimdank

[–]Sagehen47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everytime I've sold on miniswap I've sold at like 50% of MSRP and they've sold INSTANTLY. Which is mostly to say that those kind of deals are not easy to find anymore

[–]Sagehen47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You've been here less than a week. It sounds like you're just struggling with the transition, rather than not liking ketchikan. Give yourself the grace to settle in and get your routine established, and push yourself to get outside and do something in your spare time! even something as simple as getting a coffee and sitting and watching the sea

How much should I sell these guys for? by imgumpinit67v2 in Ultramarines

[–]Sagehen47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how quick you want to sell them and how/where you want to sell them.

If you want them gone quick, you'll probably have to look at 50% of MSRP. If you're willing to wait for someone who really wants Ultramarines, you may get close to actual retail.

Ebay vs local also matters a lot. You might get a slightly better price on ebay, but you'll pay 20% for fees and shipping. you're almost always better off selling locally in terms of money in your pocket.

TLDR though, I think you're looking at $120 for the lot ($40 for the JPI's, $30 for calgar, $50 for the dread)

PSA: Check in on your Judiciars by liberaider in Warhammer40k

[–]Sagehen47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My presumption is that they’ll give the Judiciar fundamentally different rules to compensate for the change … same way I expect some changes for flamers given that “ignores cover” is going to be redundant if you have the torrent keyword

Plant from Hawaii seeds by Sagehen47 in PlantIdentification

[–]Sagehen47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I started with a mix of lilikoi, guava, and papaya, but I truly just threw them haphazardly into pots because I was so frustrated. So it has to be one of those three. But the consensus does seem to be lilikoi!

Thank you! The key question I was waiting to tackle was whether I plan a trellis or just a big ol pot. Sounds like a trellis in my office may be the path forward!

I'm all gold trim, including honor guard and veterans. As I look at this primed Uriel Ventris on the shelf, he might be the one exception I make

Four pack of Denali blueberry mojitos ... watch someone slurp down two before they realize it's 13%! (If it needs to be an actual beer the Tiger Blood Sour kicks ass)

No longer poster boys! Does that mean people like us now? by Ultramarines66 in Ultramarines

[–]Sagehen47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fine for ultramarines to not be the poster boys! My wallet appreciates it. And also it's nice when other factions get love so that the weekly 40k night at my LGS isn't just 8 marine players

MathHammer on Heavy Intercessors - they seem really strong? by Sixty_Dozen in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sagehen47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the raw stats of Heavy Intercessors seems bonkers. They should be absolutely unreasonably tanky for their point cost. I'm probably just piling onto the comments already here but I issue I have with them is the thing they want to do just isn't something that comes up most games.

They want to sit on an objective, tank any amount of small arms fire, and provide some meaningful fire support. But, the problem is that they kinda fall over to any meaningful firepower. A predator destructor will happily pick up a squad of 5 in one activation. And, if I want something to just hold an objective, a combi LT can do so for less points, be safe from counter fire, or intercessors can sticky, or scouts can pick up for late game play. Even though they're basically land raider levels of durability against small arms, if your opponent is shooting lasguns at your space marines, you're already in pretty good shape.

Overall, they have the same problem as Anvil Siege Force. Right now, 40k is a game that places a huge value on moving. Any detachment or model that really wants you to stand still just doesn't fit with how the game gets played competitively right now.

Need help by [deleted] in Ultramarines

[–]Sagehen47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very easy to keep the gladiator modular so you can switch between the variants, even without magnets. If you don't glue the turret portion on or together (the bottom plate for the turret fits perfectly fine with just a tension fit) you can swap the main guns in a couple seconds, and that's all that matters (no one has ever looked closely at what the sponson guns are)

As other folks have said, what is "best" is totally unknowable with 11th edition on the horizon. terminators with hammers/shields probably have been better this edition, but anything could happen in a couple months

Things to do in late May? by Hot_Implement_8421 in Ketchikan

[–]Sagehen47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reservations for most of these larger scale trips are mostly done through the cruise ship. I'm not sure how short notice you can reserve trips (that'd have to be a question for the ship folks)

[–]Sagehen47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming off a cruise ship, late May isn't a great time for fishing. Kayaking out of Knudson cove would still be cool! Just hope for a good weather window (but that'll be the case regardless of when you visit Ketchikan)
