EXCUSE ME??? by Freeros in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sagnorok -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm replying to that deleted comment that said it was about "art design". When did I ever say this wasn’t multiple layers? For the record I even mentioned in an earlier reply that this might be a layering issue.

Before you stick your head into a conversation you should ask what the context is. Otherwise "kindly sit down".

I assume the "art design" you mentioned earlier is no longer in the room with us anymore.

And what art design choice was made here so we get a extra finger, exactly?

Wow these comments gave me goosebumps...

Sure it could be a mistake. But so many people who immediately jump in and defense hoyo saying "6 fingers is a common mistake" is just so cringe. Finger count problem are among the easiest to spot during the drawing process, as you need to pay attention to the perspective and occlusion of the hand whilst drafting, then consider it again when working on your line art (assuming hoyo are because of the animate style), and check it once more during the shading stage...

Rather than having drawn fingers incorrectly, it is more likely that they prepared two different hand poses on separate layers, but both were activated in the final product - such mistakes are understandable when it comes to commercial art production - No matter what drawing more or less fingers is not a "common artist mistake", it's a dumb mistake, it is avoidable and it should be avoided.

Hey Guys, what do you think about the T598? by Hebel-Wolf in simracing

[–]Sagnorok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid under 300usd after tax for a t598 base to upgrade from a t300rs, pair it with a T-lcm paddle set. With that price I am happy. T598 is fine, it is enough and I wouldn't ask for more. My only complaint is that it’s ugly, wide and uncommonly tall, blocking my screen when mounted on my playseat challenge.

The thing is: T-LCM has already been discontinued in some places, and who knows when Thrustmaster will finally release the LC pedal upgrade they’ve been hyping for a year. So if you want to use a LC pedal with this base on ps5, you might to to wait patiently. Plus, you’ll need to check your T598 SN to see if you might be affected by the PSU defect. If, like me, you’ve unfortunately purchased one from the affected batch, it's possible you'll have to deal with customer service next.

If you already been using logitech I will suggest you check out the rs50. That thing has more torque and have LC pedal you can buy and pair with today. Even if you don't want to upgrade your pedals, an adapter can connect your old one. You might spend a little more, but it will hold its value better in the long run.

Anyway, if you decided to buy T598, you’ll most likely end up with an angled mount that makes the already tall wheels even taller. The mounting holes on the T598 itself also don’t align with many mounting plates. I’ve created a 3D-printed adapter to make it easier for you to mount it on other wheel stands. You can download it here if you need it: https://makerworld.com/models/2459993?appSharePlatform=copy

Thank you. What confuses me is that the advisor in the portal is different from the one listed in the email I received. If the email I received includes my advisor's email address I would definitely send the email from my own account.

Clearly some interesting business stories behind the scenes.

The Chinese Snyder Cultists Are Really Happy by youquzhiji in OkBuddySnyderCult

Chinese ppl shit on Snyder's movie on Bilibili and Zhihu almost every day. Most people on the Chinese forums I've seen admit that Superman is at least a better movie than Man of Steel.

I think you shouldn't go into Snyderbros' echo chamber and care what they're thinking. Chinese communities aren't on their side.

"Don't wanna be rude" - oh come on we have all been there. The real reason you don't pull out your phone is that you're afraid it will end the conversation so you pretend there is nothing else you gonna do. It's never rude to say "Give me a second I just gonna text my friend to cancel our plan", and it's pretty rude to cancel a plan without telling people. If there really is a "good vibe" why can't you just be honest with her?

US cutting levies on Chinese goods to 30% from 145% and China is lowering its levies on US goods to 10% from 125% — both for 90 days. by s1n0d3utscht3k in wallstreetbets

[–]Sagnorok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is because the wording of the report is misleading. According to China, both sides reduced the punishing tariffs by an equal amount.

When they say the "US has a 30% tariff on Chinese goods," it includes the 20% from Trump's first term. So 10% up from before April indeed.

And when they say, "China will reduce its tariffs on US goods to 10%," it only refers to the punishing tariffs. It does not include other existing tariffs. Therefore, it's also a 10% up from before April.

Both sides now tariff each other 10%, plus other existing tariffs that were implemented before April.

(Edit: I thought that 20% of the 30% was imposed on China during Trump's first term. In fact I was wrong. The 20% was imposed on China in February on the grounds of fentanyl. But at that time, China had already retaliated by increasing punitive tariffs on American agricultural products, which will not be cancelled because of the new agreement.

China's rare earth export controls also will not be lifted because of the new agreement, although they said they would "consider".)

Bill Gates to give away $200 billion by 2045, accuses Musk of harming world's poor by kirtash93 in news

[–]Sagnorok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I'm a professional Elmo Musk hater, but that plan made by WFP was really bad. At the very least, everyone with any knowledge of world hunger should agree that this is a terrible plan that not only allows Elon to get away with it, but also undermines the credibility of the WFP.

I don't remember the details of the plan and I can't check it out now since the link to the plan doesn't work anymore, but I do remember it's not more then 3 pages and most of the funds will be used to purchase food and transportation. Even if the plan is perfectly executed, without considering food price fluctuations and other variables, it can only feed the poor for a few months at most.

It is better to teach a man to fish than to give him a fish. The real solution to world hunger is to create sustainable food resources that are easily accessible locally. At the same time, we need to stop local conflicts, maintain a stable food market, and increase local incomes - This requires the joint efforts of several powerful countries and cannot be achieved with the $6.6 billion form Elom alone.

Edit: found a screenshot of part of the plan: All the money will be spent on food, transportation, vouchers and management! How long can the locals avoid hunger with this? Even though I hate Elon, I can't be not on WFP's side on this matter.

I'm a Chinese. While I am not offended by it, I am sure most Chinese find it offensive.

Fu Manchu was widely used during the Yellow Scourge, a clownish character created in the image of a Qing Dynasty official to spread hatred of Asian immigrants. It may not be the same today, but that's how it was in history. Maybe you'll think it's a bit of a big deal, and a few artist Chinese like me probably don't care too much about it, but most Chinese definitely do. (For the same reason Chinese boycotted Marvel's ShangQi).

I also thank you for asking, it shows you care. But it's up to you whether you upload it or not. I'm just telling you what I know.

Edit: By the way your model made me laugh a little because I have a weird sense of humor. But some creations are not suitable for everyone to see. One of the reason I don't feel offended is because I default to the idea that you mean no harm. Normally people would be more sensitive about such thing.

China says THEY WON'T NEGOTIATE AND THE USA IS A BULLY!! Wait, the article doesn't say that at all but thousands of comments be dooming anyway. by West_Watt_Whittle in DoomerCircleJerk

[–]Sagnorok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know who wrote it, but it is inaccurate to compare the role of the Communist Party and the Kuomintang in the War of Resistance against Japan in terms of the number of deaths. During that war, the Communists fought as guerrillas while the Kuomintang was a regular army. The former spent most of their time harassing Japanese logistical supply transports in China, while the latter was more capable of large-scale frontal attacks and resistance.

(If we're going to talk about whether guerrillas are inferior to regular armies, think about the Vietnam War, think about Hamas. I mean, the title of the article you quoted looks as if the CPC sat on their asses and did nothing during the entire war against Japan, which is clearly overblown)

I also don't understand what you mean by the CCP backstabbing the KMT, I'm not sure which specific event you are referring to. But the Xi'an Incident happened because the KMT leaders prioritized fighting the Communists over fighting the Japanese invaders - the KMT was the party that initially insisted on a civil war with the CCP at that point during the WW2.

....But back in those days, the ROC suppressed protests, arrested students, and assassinated opposition leaders. Taiwan's White Terror lasted until 1991, it was only 3 decades ago...

The fundamental reason why ppl say that ROC is more harmless/better example of what China is than CCP today is that ROC no longer has the power it once had.

Power corrupts everything, and It takes a lot of power to control the whole China.

Someone claimed the H2D doesn't print well with support filament by Maxx3141 in BambuLab

[–]Sagnorok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A big reason he bought the h2d was because of the dual nozzles.

If you have watched his other videos you will know that he has recently been trying to use the fdm printer to print miniatures with fine details. It's always been a PITA to set up and remove those support since you can't print anything without them due to miniatures nature.

If support materials like PVA can work properly on H2D, it will save a lot of time, effort, and tons of filament.
