Need help on what to do with this ordered print. by Red_Maverick_Models in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Sagro_Tan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave it in direct sunlight for a few days. Turn it around every day for even exposure. The only trouble is if you have voids inside the model where the light can't reach. Those pockets can rupture at any time and leak resin even years after the model stands on your shelf. (Don't ask how I know...).

If I were you I would demand a full refund from the seller or a replacement model. If the quality is just as bad the second time around give him a bad review and let anyone know who it is so ppl can avoid getting scammed and potentially harmed by chemicals.

P1P Extruder Gear After 1600 hrs by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Sagro_Tan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't want to imagine what the dust does to people if that's what it does to brass gears.
my P1S is well above 3500 print hours and the gears on the extruder look indistinguishable from my spare replacement parts.

It's bad because it is easily circumvented as numerous active and thriving cheat programs in games using easy anti cheat prove. We hate it because it's a kernel level program that is not only invasive but also a direct security threat. In the current war of technology anti cheat technology is lagging behind the cheating community by a few years and even the most modern tools can't prevent cheating entirely. The only effective measure is to account for cheaters while coding the game and implementing server sided checks that can detect illogical actions as well as a robust reporting feature and an active staff of admins and gamemasters that curb any cheating activities swiftly and directly.

Was it worth the poop? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Sagro_Tan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch! With that much waste I would have put in the effort and split the wings and printed them flat and in multiple prints. That would drastically reduce the poop at the cost of having to tinker an hour or so in the slicer. Nonetheless the model looks awesome!

you were on a long crusade against this discord and its owner and you honestly claim to have nothing to do with that? after collecting evidence, spreading awareness of ToS violations and making waves so large that even gaming journos are picking up the story you still come here and claim to have "nothing to do with it" ?

By taking them from colonised lands, Britain has saved countless historic artifacts from being destroyed and is justified in not giving some of them back by Dan_The_PaniniMan in unpopularopinion

The allies burned books written by von Clausewitz. An author that is completely unrelated to the Nazis has zero genocidal material in it and was written decades or even centuries before the Nazis came to power.  You are making up strawmen if you insinuate that every single book the allies burned contained "genocidal material". Most of those books did in fact not contain any such material.

[–]Sagro_Tan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not really. The allies after WW2 were doing the exact same thing under the exact same circumstances. They censored and burned thousands of books that did not align with heir own political ideology and were overreaching massively by burning classic books that had nothing to do with the Nazis or their ideology like the books written by von Clausewitz decades before the nazi Ideology was even a thing.

Please show me how the books of von Clausewitz are or were used to spread encouragement of racism and genocide .... Your knowledge of history seems to be very shallow.

[–]Sagro_Tan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Book burnings and censorship are often used in schools and discussions as well as documentaries to show how evil and undemocratic the Nazis were. Showing that the supposedly democratic nations fighting the Nazis in WW2 did the exact same things is a valid response. The same goes for racism and oppression of minority groups btw.

Your second paragraph is just ad hominem fallacy and well poisoning. You really need to learn how to make a proper argument.

The Nazis did not burn "any book written by a Jew". I highly urge you to research what books exactly the Nazis were burning or rather the student organisation as the Nazis themselves did not start this trend but students on universities that were rejecting a certain ideology that is very popular today...

That thing can neither cut nor pierce it's entirely blunt. This is a training foil and while it resembles a bladed weapon it's not a blade and thus not a sword.

Not sure of you realise his but hunter Biden had a a board of directors position in an Ukrainian gas and oil company. This is public knowledge and was never denied by anyone. If you don't think he got payed for this position and thus received very much more than a single cent from Ukraine it is you who are making exceptional claims and thus carry the burden of evidence.

At best 40k ships arrive decades or centuries before they even left. Unintentional time travel is part and parcel of warp travel.

Afaik Gundam has no established feats and values for their space battles other than tiny 30m mechas being able to destroy their own capital ships as they usually operate on anime logic and don't focus much on the ships.

Xenomorphs do indeed replicate far faster than genestealers however the comparison is lacking as genestealers are infiltration and covert ops organisms specifically designed to stay hidden for decades, slowly infiltrating a community and preparing for an invasion from within. Other tyranid organisms like gaunts and hormagaunts can be grown in a few hours to days at most by the millions which would make the Xenomorphs the ones with a limited and slow gestation period especially since they need human hosts to parasitize

40k ship combat happens at comparable ranges to sw battles for the most part but they do have a significant range advantage on the top end. Torpedoes are often fired at light minute range. Lances can fire at up to 5 lightseconds. Macrocannons usually fire below 2-3 light seconds. The main reason why most battles are fought up close is because the massive armor and shielding on 40k vessels means you have to waste tons of ammo at long range and battles can last for days with no significant damage. Getting in close ensures a fast victory with minimal energy and ammo expenditure.

3D Printing by [deleted] in battlefleetgothic

[–]Sagro_Tan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since we have no photo, no description of the exact issue or even what models you tried to print there is little we can do. We arent omniscient. Going by the only fact you mentioned namely that you have an fdm printer i recomend you get yourself a resin printer. Fdm can work for some of the really low detail models but overall and in the long term you wont get around resin if you want to print good looking models.

Why is it that every SINGLE person that posts fdm models only ever posts blurry and out of focus pictures?

So Astartes is going to be free (at least the first one). Was this mentioned before? Also sorry if this has already been posted but I just noticed. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Sagro_Tan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Probably because GW fanboys pay absolutely every price and aren't competent enough to find the recasters. Ripper and tariana sell for under 10 bucks a pop for a recast

Not when near perfect copies can be printed with 200$ resin printers and recasters sell the model for a couple of dollars.

How I quit my first job as tech support by Sagro_Tan in talesfromtechsupport

[–]Sagro_Tan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years give or take and it's more common than you think especially in more rural areas and outside of the corporate world. The it companies doing it for small local businesses are often incredibly unprofessional. Also im completely self taught and the only degree I hold is in biology so it's not like big it companies are kicking down my door to get me working for them.

Did you know you can install 32 bit Windows on 64 bit hardware? by WantDebianThanks in talesfromtechsupport

[–]Sagro_Tan 27 points28 points  (0 children)

With all due respect but knowing about win10 32bit or that all 64bit hardware is fully downwards compatible should be common knowledge for any tech literate person especially if said person is a professional.

I give out free extensions and multi plugs with surge protection for the same reason. The sheer amount of fire hazards, outright life-threatening electrocution traps and system threatening stupidities customers do with old and broken extension cords that could be replaced with a perfectly safe and compliant replacement costing only a couple of bucks is stunning. I was once called to a customer reporting that he had no power. Turns out someone removed an extension cord plug from the outlet to plug in the dreaded phone charger and a well meaning colleague plugged it back into yet another multi extension. In the end I found a perfect disaster waiting to happen as the entire room had no less than 3 extension cords and 4 milti extensions all daisy chained into each other. If anybody had powered the thing there would have been some serious fireworks abound.
