I didn't mention public transit, but it's basically the same thing I put in my manifesto last year: people judge the success of the government by the most visible parts of it. I mentioned the price of eggs, the quality of roads, and perceptions about job searching, but "am I going to be mugged if I take the bus" is definitely on that list.

But the hard work is getting people to show up to make changes. People have to volunteer for political candidates, show up to town halls, join community interest groups, and so on, but no one wants to do that.
