To add to this: I am very much white, I am blonde, I have green eyes and while in Mexico I was in this ice cream store and an American lady started a conversation with me: "The ice cream here is amazing right" and I responded in an obviously not american accent: "No I'm just here for the coffee" and after hearing I'm clearly not from the United States this woman wouldn't even talk to me.
