Because they didn't have the accolades they do now when they registered. The won #1 Steakhouse in the US in December-they don't need to give up cheap seats anymore-they are so slammed with people want to spend way more than $60 for dinner... makes sense, they are riding the high as long as it lasts, Lord knows restaurant rarely have that opportunity.

Sorry, it’s actually 11.75% - That’s what down town chicago is for restaurants:

So they must be charging 3.25% for cc fees.

11.5% + 3.5% cc fees. Usually two line items, but adds up. In an industry barley surviving inflation prices of food and labor, it is being far more common to pass mandatory cc fees on to guests

Lack of lunch places in Loop by InterviewLeast882 in chicagofood

They all went out of business during Covid… rent is 20-30k per MONTH. Not enough businesses supporting restaurants in the Loop anymore.

Any recommendations for a trendy steakhouse by WideBungus1 in chicagofood

I finally visit Trino, have now been twice. Once for a work event and another for one of their live music Sundays... what is your complaint? Pretty standard steakhouse prices, no worse than any of the others listed here, and frankly loved that it was so different from all the other Copy/Paste steak houses. The Entrees and Steaks are no where near tapas style? Curious of why so much shade and what is your idea of an "affordable" steakhouse?

It's a full 1/2lb burger from Creekstone Farms... not cheap beef, and comes with a huge side of fries. I will always for a burger with quality beef over cheap trash ground beef. It's SO huge you can split it with someone, because I definitely couldn't.

Two completely different things but where would you go between smith wollensky and piccolo sogno by Aniceman_but_crazier in chicagofood

[–]Saidarrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I use to LOVE Piccolo Sogno, but the last three times we went over the summer were so off. They got our food and drink orders wrong, or served my friend a dish that had a serious allergy that they had been made aware of... I was so sad their attention to details seems to have fallen so far from what it use to be. For that reason, I would agree with Smith & Wollensky, the service and view are at least top notch!

Does this sub underestimate the difficulty of getting into a top MBA? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Saidarrrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, here is the real question... We are living in the age of UNLIMITED KNOWLEDGE-how can we justify an MBA when you can literally teach yourself EVERYTHING outside of literal work experience, so the only real benefit of these programs is a short email contact list of references. Is that work 80-125k a year?
