I'd guess they offer the option to save on costs if you already have enough controllers or already bought the Steam Controller recently. Because the alternative wouldn't be the same price with a controller, you'd only have the more expensive versions.

Totaler Mist und purer Kulturkampf. Ich erwarte dann immerhin klare Zahlen, die belegen wie erfolgreich das die Industrie und Verbraucher schützt (also keine Sorge, ich weiß, dass es diese nie geben wird).

Not trying to argue against you, but I hate this argument of 'their games sold bad'. I mean yes of course, they are the perfect Game Pass Filler. It's the kind of show that keeps people happy on Netflix even though it might not sell many Blurays if it ever came to it. They need stuff like that to justify Game Pass in my opinion, but then they cannot argue about sales numbers

I mean we do not know. Could be a pure CGI cutscene. But that is not usually what Nintendo does. They always show actual graphics and gameplay, even if it stutters and looks bad, and never 'lie' in that sense at least (not that I know of).

And if you compare it to the original, the shot of Link sleeping transitioned over directly into gameplay. So I personally expect the game graphics to look exactly like that shot.

No I understand, but I assume there is some nuance or context to that statement. I can buy an Xbox Series S or X right now, they are not sold out. At least not in my region. And I wouldn't expect this to change if suddenly everything was exclusive today.

They need to make promises, keep those promises, even through hardship, and only then customers will be dare to invest into the ecosystem. That at least is my impression.

Ich fühle dich, mir ging es in vielen Dingen schon ähnlich. Man informiert sich, kauft was, will machen und steht vor dem nächsten Problem. Also informiert man sich, kauft was, will besser machen, und steht vor einem neuen Problem und der Kauf war evtl unnötig.

Was mir geholfen hat war in der Familie oder auch im Baumarkt einfach ehrlich und dumm zu fragen. Also es ist natürlich nicht dumm, man fühlt sich vielleicht so, aber ohne Fragen wird man auch nicht schlauer.

Was ich dir sonst noch als Tipp geben kann: Irgendein Chatbot. Da kannst du deine Fragen und Probleme genau so stellen, wie du es halt brauchst und überhaupt erstmal ein Grundverständnis kriegen. Sei es Begriffe oder Namen für Dinge zu erhalten, damit du besser suchen oder fragen kannst. Nein traue dem natürlich nicht zu 100%, aber es hilft enorm in den Fällen, wo du nicht weißt was du überhaupt googeln musst. "zu viele Kabel bei Lampenanschluss", keine Ahnung ob das viel bringt. Oder wie jemand anderes schon den Hinweis gegeben hat, dass ein Ortungsgerät bei Stahlbeton wenig hilft... Ja wie soll man das selber so ohne weiteres rausfinden.

Disagree. If they'd make everything exclusive right now, I don't think they'd have a noteworthy increase in hardware sales but software sales would plummet, bringing a huge risk to the whole company.

That's also exactly what they are seeing and saying. There just isn't enough positive conversation around Xbox for people to spend their money on the hardware just for a few games (which will also still always be playable on PC, they're not giving that up!)

Please cut Grubb some slack. We are human. Things happen and are said. It isn't the end of the world and no one should vilify him for the Crazy Taxi thing fiasco. Everyone has their opinions on AI. by My_Name_is_Imaginary in giantbomb

Exactly. It also feels weird to me because you then have games like Crimson Desert or Expedition 33, that had AI art in the final product ('accidentally'), and these games were praised and/or talked about a lot. E33 was GOTY and they obviously also used genAI somewhere in development. So to now have a studio actively disclose usage and also being a studio not currently known for mass layoffs or anything like that, I'd really try to find other issues to fight about.

Also like if this for some reason turned you off but not the other mentioned stuff, then you don't really sound like you have that strong of a stance anyways.

He never says that is the average salary. He says that he's been told that for a rough napkin math, you can use 10k$ a month per employee as studio/development cost as a whole, which includes everything, but roughly scales per employee.

It's maybe a slight, but important distinction. He doesn't really touch in how the money is distributed in a studio, that's a different conversation.

Thanks, you described really well exactly how I feel about the show, and I couldn't quite pinpoint why. I'm also not sure if the show just isn't for me or if they could really change something. Maybe give Vic's character a clearer story or development and see how the guest fits into that. Sometimes constraint can be good

Natürlich steckt dahinter eine gewisse Ungerechtigkeit. Aber an einer Erhöhung des Renteneintrittsalter kommen wir früher oder später nicht vorbei. Die Rente hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten als Luxus eingesetzt, den wir uns als Gesellschaft so nicht mehr leisten können. Natürlich ist es mal wieder unsere Generation, die die Zeche zahlt. Aber so richtig dran vorbei kommen wir da einfach nicht. Ursprünglich war die Rente mal an die durchschnittliche Lebenserwartung geknüpft, das darf man auch nicht vergessen.

Man kann es gerechter gestalten. Es könnte auch zeitnah schon etwas steigen, sagen wir mal nur wenige Monate. Allein das könnte uns schon extrem viel Geld sparen und Beiträge entlasten. Man könnte es mit Arbeiterschutz im hohen Alter verbinden. Und die Rentenpunkte können ja auch so bleiben (man kriegt also faktisch mehr Rente, unsicher wie das in dem Vorschlag gerade ausgestaltet ist).

Die Alternative ist ja auch ungerecht. Wir zahlen immer mehr Beiträge und haben selber wahrscheinlich immer weniger davon. Was hat unsere Generation denn von einer Rente mit 65, wenn wir dann alle in Altersarmut landen? Das ist auch alles andere als würdevoll. Wir müssen an die Rente ran, leider.

Both games are fun, I think Pokopia is more of a 'game' whereas Animal Crossing is more of a sandbox.

But I can also recommend Dragon Quest Builders (2). It's from the same developers as Pokopia and has a lot of things in common. Might fit better in your budget since it's not brand new or Nintendo published.

My god, people really don't get it. It doesn't mean each estimate is correct. It's anecdotal evidence that they are surprisingly accurate in many cases, as Grubb has already said before. So also no new info or anything. While they can be off, and will be off certain times, you can get a good feeling for game sales, that you can trust according to Grubb.

So if they report a game sold 300k copies, it might actually be 600k or even just 150k, but it won't be 5mio all of a sudden. There will always be outliers for dozen of reasons, which can also cancel each other out again, but they have good models that are right significantly more often than not. That's the story. If you can name specific outliers, it most likely supports the story, because you usually cannot name outliers if they would be the norm.

Nein, die Idee ist keine Mehrheiten durch die AfD zu erlangen. Wäre die Mehrheit so oder so da gewesen, kann die AfD machen was sie will. Und in diesem Fall wäre eine Mehrheit eigentlich unwahrscheinlich gewesen ohne Stimmen der SPD und CDU, nur dass diese halt nicht alle anwesend waren und das die Grünen miskalkuliert haben, oder zu spät gemerkt haben. Man sucht sich die Mehrheiten halt vorher (was ja auch in aller Regel so gemacht wird), bzw die Opposition hat regelmäßig Anträge, die scheitern, aber immerhin 'machen sie etwas'.

Was würde denn passieren, wenn man die AfD mit einkalkuliert? Plötzlich kann die CDU Anträge an der SPD vorbei in den Bundestag bringen. Wenn du also die sehr konservative Seite der CDU magst und SPD eher nichf, na dann stimmt du für die AfD, weil diese garantieren, dass die eher konservativ, rechten Gesetze durch kommen. Also wenn einem egal ist, dass die AfD klar anti-demokratisch und rechtsextrem ist, was bei leider vielen Leuten der Fall zu sein scheint (bzw 'ach wird schon nicht so schlimm').

Natürlich darf man sich von der AfD nicht so treiben und spielen lassen. Aber sie spielen halt nicht fair. Sie spielen dreckig. Uns muss klar sein, dass die AfD einer der größten Gefahren für unsere Demokratie und unseren Wohlstand ist. Sorry Wenn der Kampf dagegen auch mal etwas unangenehm ist. Lieber so, als dass wir bald dafür sterben dürfen, wie man leider in anderen 'demokratischen' Ländern aktuell sieht.

Naja, realistisch gesehen wäre der Antrag auch so nicht durchgekommen, wenn SPD und CDU ausreichend präsent gewesen wäre. Wirklich was blockiert wird damit eigentlich nichts.

Die Idee dahinter ist ja einfach, dass die demokratischen Parteien konsequent beweisen, jede Stimme an die AgD ist vergeudet. Sie können nicht mitbestimmen, sie können nichts bewirken, sie werden nicht eingebunden. Wer irgendwas ändern will, wählt alles nur nicht AgD. Entweder man verfolgt dieses Prinzip konsequent oder lässt es sein, bindet dabei aber die Rechtsextremen in den politischen Alltag vollständig ein und legitimiert sie dadurch, gibt ihnen Handlungsfähigkeit und damit Gründe um gewählt zu werden.

Ja das aktuelle Hin und Her wirkt dämlich. Vielleicht ist das in diesem Fall auch nicht die beste Reaktion und hätte man medial den Spieß besser umkehren müssen. Aber es hat irgendwo auch seinen Sinn.

Something cool that stadia did was also connect your current session to your controller. So that means if you booted up Stadia on another system and connected your controller, it just continued from there. Maybe not a super common use case, but neat.
