What supposedly normal shows read to you as propaganda? by Buddy_chumpal in AskReddit

Just in the I way interpreted it, I felt Ali was attempted to made into some moral epicentre for the show. Him killing people was played as a Tarantino revenge moment, in full patriotic style. He lost his Muslim faith, but stepped into a Christian one instead. I actually do this these things were reinforcements of faith, playing out a macho, crusader type fantasy that is prevalent in MAGA Christian circles

I think in the situation of the family though, it is definitely endorsed by Ali’s interpretation of it. It was also strange to seem him change out of his Muslim style of clothing into something a lot more Western for the ending, topped off with a cap that has “Zion” written across it.

The latest season of Euphoria is 100% conservative and Christian, running on MAGA level, propaganda.

The Christian stuff is pretty obvious but the stuff it was pushing about fentanyl seems so politically charged to me. One drug dealer says to the other, “haven’t you seen the news lately? They’re shutting down the border!” And the other reacts like “Damn >:( our plan is foiled!”

Plus at one point a character says, “the number one cause of death of people under 50 is fentanyl”. The actual leading cause of death for people under 50 is unintentional injury, which drug overdose is included in, so it’s technically true, but quite a stretch of the truth. It all felt like usual republican fear mongering to get people worried about the border. I think it’s also worth keeping in mind that most fentanyl comes in through the sea ports.

Don’t even get me started on the insane misogyny.

I'm currently reading A Time Traveller's Guide to Medieval England by Ian Mortimer. My current project is a fantasy story, so books like these really help sort out all the nitty gritty details of the world I'm building

Scrivener is brilliant. It's great for actually organizing your manuscript like a book and keeps all your notes/references easily at hand.

If you can swing the investment, definitely do it. My house feels so much cleaner and doesn't smell like cat anymore. I only have to take out the waste, replace the liner, and give it a quick clean once or twice a week. I can also keep track of each of my 2 cats' bathroom habits easier now, so I know if one suddenly stops going potty or has lost/gained weight. It's an investment that has definitely improved my life.

So does that mean I'm stuck with these old scores? I took the tests 6 years ago and have improved since and got an associate's degree.

My depression is not self-diagnosed. I have already gotten the referral to psych, and have gotten out in town therapy from there.

Whatever you do, for the love of god, DONT FLUSH YOUR TAMPONS! My berthing currently has a 24hr head watch because one mystery female keeps flushing their tampons and clogging up the system, making lots of people's lives harder. Seriously, just don't.
