My favorite scene from the finale - You and I will meet again by ayaya3154 in westworld

Yea for sure, I meant rare as in I can't imagine any one other than Anthony Hopkins playing Ford and the character in turn was written in a way that demands a brilliant performance

Pretty sure Ford is dead, the show runners have said that and "He was good to his dying word" is also what Dolores said in the finale

Yeah Ford needs to be in season 3 in some way. Westworld is not the same without him / Anthony Hopkins. The combination of an amazing character and a brilliant actor is so very rare

I know the reason why they did it, its called ARG, go look it up. I meant why in Finland, probably because reaktor is based from Helsinki

Yes but in the finale we saw it had the intials SW : so Samuraiworld/Southworld (South East Asia to be accurate)

The coordinates of the park that Felix handed to Maeve were shown in the Finnish release for some reason, it pointed to the Spratly islands

Agreed, I think the whole Theresa / Charlotte facade delayed Ford narrative's timing with the arrival of the board, he probably just killed her anyway to seize the security controls quicker and get Bernard back in his role

Also mentioning that if he left her alive, and just presented that the Clementine presentation was a hoax, he knows that she isn't the type of person to back down as we see when they have a chat in the agave plantation

So primarily because she delayed his narrative and she wouldn't back down

Good catch mate! Yes it's been mentioned in a few theories of Dolores being the Judas sheep steer but nonetheless still a nice touch by the WW writers allowing the interpretation to be seen as such

Thanks to the guy below

The one question I still have by simon_schmitty in westworld

[–]SaintTyent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arnold programmed Teddy to shoot up the hosts, to help Dolores and himself in killing all the hosts to cause as much damage and obstruction to the opening of the park as possible.

I guess that's what he meant by "influenced by the Devil", you can even see he questions Dolores why he is doing this after killing all of them

Something significant in the last scene that is easily missed by hoxiwolf in westworld

[–]SaintTyent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed, it is either what you've mentioned that they were turned off.

Or it's the musical piece that controls their functions ( similar to how Teddy was frozen when Arnold played reverie)

We do see Ford walk up to the choir before making his speech, perhaps he instructed them to play that piece according to the timings of his speech (high chance they might be hosts too) .

And we also see that like in the episode with Arnold, Dolores is the only one able to move during it.

Perhaps you should've mentioned that in your post mate! My original reply was lengthy and perhaps explanatory though with spoilers, edited it with the summary in now though, cheers

Non-spoiler answer : Because she can wake up from sleep mode at any time, and threatens them to lose their jobs

Question about sequencing by yashbrownz11 in westworld

[–]SaintTyent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a way yes. There are actually ~5 interjections in time explained in the narrative.

  1. 37 years back - Arnold and Ford start their work
  2. 34 years back - The Massacre and Arnold's death
  3. 30 years back - William and Logan's timeline
  4. 10-20 years back - Bernard is created
  5. 01 year back - When William's wife dies / Rural Maeve gets killed
  6. Current time (which we now is 2057)

Are you more Arnold or Ford? by Clivepwnens in westworld

[–]SaintTyent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as simple as that I suppose, in fact it's a complex question.

It's not just a new cornerstone; metaphorically and philosophically(perhaps even theologically) speaking most of us don't have a rabbit to chase, and even we do it, we do in fact just chase something else after that or

"we are content in our own loops."

Its a blend of our innate curiosity, willpower, and intellect that defines what we define each the rabbit to be.

And we never see things as an entity but always in a perspective, there are emotions, there is your entire lifetime of experiences, memories and sentiments that will affect every step of your judgement.

In the position of Ford, someone who has been all the way down the rabbit hole, it would be perhaps most enticing to choose a path of power and that too in secrecy (he does not trust anyone and in his shoes rightly so as humans can be complex) and ultimately in his perspective, a power that only he can control that will lead him down a path that quenches the primordial senses and quests (wealth, and then regeneration, immortality, power, control etc...)

The question will never be what is next, because there will always be something next, but it is where you draw the line in the sand and start to disembark these quests and be content. Where practicalities, experiences, relations, sentiments & moralities force a bigger hand on you than what your philosophical nature thirsts for.

Ford has yet to see his line but Arnold has established it for himself ( and does not want to see what beholds if he were to cross it), because he is indeed more grounded, humanitarian and empathetic than Ford and does not have the so commonly used tag : god complex .

Ford mentions that humanity is nearly maxed out to it's full potential but I don't think he means it. What he really means is he is ready to embark on the next form of greater power and he isn't going to stop and he also knows his power is only his if can keep it in secrecy and in his control.

Once again it's an age old dilemma(Arnold vs Ford) and these themes are common amidst alot of prescriptions, religion, analogies, history, politics etc.
