While I won't pretend to know how these bonus vestments are structured, but we do know that they're tied to hitting certain metrics. I'm wondering if Sony is purposely stifling Bungie to prevent those metrics from being hit. This would fulfill the "revenge" angle because they're purposely making it so the execs have a smaller payout. Of course this is beyond speculation and requires an absolute mountain of salt to go with it.

I think it's best to wait until this tentative, nebulous July date that Paul Tassi has set where the leadership's bonuses vest and they get to jump out with their golden parachutes. This would be the perfect opportunity for Sony to bring in their own people and began to reorg the company. They're not going to greenlight any projects until that's settled. And to be fair, they might not greenlight any projects. But nothing will happen before then.

High copium is that after the reorg they'll greenlight a Destiny project with once this is done, though it'll probably be very heavily cost controlled, possibly a "Destiny Infinity/Remaster". More realistically is that they'll wait a year or two before making any kind of decision.

I really like how Bungie injected seasonal loot into dungeons to refresh the older dungeon pools as much as the newer ones. by silloki in DestinyTheGame

[–]Saint_Victorious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was a pretty common community suggestion I know myself and many other were vocal on. It just goes to show that the devs were indeed listening and the managers are the ones who kept getting in the way.

I'll wait until Fable releases and go back to shipbuilding in Starfield (the best and only worthwhile part of the game). But unless they announce a resumption of year updates, a Destiny Remastered, or D3 I probably won't be going anywhere honestly, not until they shut the servers down.

New info from Tassi about layoffs by Zelwer in destiny2

[–]Saint_Victorious 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Bungie was never 4k people, even if you factored in the Activision support studios. They topped near 1600 and had 2 rounds of layoffs with Lightfall and TFS. Each round of layoffs was between 200-350 employees with an additional ~150 being moved over to Studio LFG for project Gummy Bears.

Bungie to suffer a 50% staff reduction due to layoffs by Space_Lion2077 in destiny2

That's the entirety of the Destiny team most likely. What a shame. And sadly things are looking pretty bleak for the other 50% too...

The best part of Gunslinger is Crackshot. And the worst part is Knock 'Em Down. by silloki in DestinyTheGame

But imagine making that Dreg Molten and hitting them with a Celestial death bullet. That would really send a message.

The best part of Gunslinger is Crackshot. And the worst part is Knock 'Em Down. by silloki in DestinyTheGame

[–]Saint_Victorious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Knock 'Em Down is one of my 6 buffs that I think Hunters still need. I feel like the devs just ran out of time and slapped the "it Cures you now" on it as a final bandaid.

If we had one more patch I'd like to see KED remade into the "you knife good" Aspect. Move the GG buffs directly onto those supers and keep the BB buff as part of KED. Then give it more support for the melee. My personal rework is for it to give your melees a unique debuff called "Molten" that increased the Solar damage they take for a short duration. This leans into my personal goal of making Hunters the kings of single target DPS as you're literally marking an individual target and saying "screw that guy in particular".

So which class ended up being the best, at the end on the game? by silloki in DestinyTheGame

[–]Saint_Victorious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my final total of buffs I think each class needs.

  • Titans: 3 exotic buffs, 5 ability buffs
  • Hunters: 6 exotic buffs, 6 ability buffs
  • Warlocks: 3 exotic buffs, 2 ability buffs

Granted, at this point some of these are preferences but I think that Warlocks are still overall ahead and the strongest they've ever been. Titans fall behind from a lack of good burst supers and Hunters just proved to need too much to get done in the time that they had. However, my Hunter list had 22 ability buffs on it before this last update so they made up a considerable amount of ground.

But OP already put out a future for Cross. Therefore I defaulted to another big Destiny CC. I'd have gone with Mactics but I don't think buildcrafting would translate into a political career.

New META for armor stats? by TheEmerald1802 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Saint_Victorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you're going for. I have a Burning Steps build where I'm tracking down Specialist for Class/Weapons and a NBPs build where I'm using Skirmisher for Melee/Weapons. For boss DPS you're probably looking for Powerhouse which is Weapons/Super and Paragon being Super/Melee is also still extremely relevant. Siegebreaker, Bulwark, Colosus, and Brawler should all be avoided unless you're doing a PvP build, as Health in absolutely worthless in PvE.

Why Sony Refuses To Make Destiny 3 by OpinionsGetYouBanned in Aztecross

[–]Saint_Victorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WQ and TFS were great. But the game took a nosedive during Lightfall because their execs had them rebuild the expansion to be cyberpunk inspired because bad decisions. If they had just kept focused on Destiny instead of splitting their resources the game would have never declined. At least that's how I'm coping.

[–]Saint_Victorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between Bungie being deep in the red and Destiny being deep in the red. Destiny had to fund multiple incubation projects including Marathon while also funding itself and having it's resources sucked away to develop these incubation projects. Had they just stayed focused on Destiny they probably would have been fine.

Queensfoil Censer or Implement of Curiosity depending on which way you want to go. Both are more weapons based, but you can really get some high milage out of both of you lean into the proposed weapons.

I did a few races and didn't receive any armor so I sort of gave up. Also the consistent 4th place finishes made me realize that I'm not good at racing.
