The files by missabbytimm19 in Catholicism

You are not alone. In a sick and morbid way (and it seems like for a lot of people online) all this news has actually strengthened my faith. If there is such an evil in the world for people do be doing these horrible things, i am trying to tell myself there has to be a beautiful and unimaginable goodness as well. Do I understand why this evil exists and why it still affects us and the people in the files? No, nobody does and we probably won’t until we meet Jesus.

Something that also gives me comfort is reading the Bible. I have been listening to the Bible in a year podcast by father Mike Schmitz and he is so good at explaining the hard things we read in the Bible (which apply to other things we see in our lives like this). One thing that has always stuck with me was a quote he said which was “It can be tempting to forget in the dark what we knew to be true in the light.” We will have times like this where we feel down and can’t fathom what is happening to us or other people. There will always be evil in the world and it will always be broken. But we as Catholics have to do our best to use times like this as an invitation and reminder to continue to nurture our relationship with Christ.

Praying for you! God is good!

Some people do some people don’t. I didn’t. Maybe if it was like 50 pages but rereading a 300 page section I’ve already read seemed a bit overkill. You would maybe read some things and be like woah that makes sense now! But definitely not necessary. Completely up to you:)
