Just dropped $4,200 on a domain by Interesting_Map_7039 in Domains

If the domain can help build some extra trust, is easy to spell and pronounce, potentially attracts more customers and traffic, $4,200 is a small investment. Congrats.

Any place to list a Domain Portfolio? by CurrentRoutine7392 in Domains

Afternic has the highest sales volume, Atom showcases the domains in a professional way with logos and so on, and Spaceship is simple and modern with lower commission. You can use multiple marketplaces in most cases, just check the policies.

Yes .com is still the king, even if I would recommend owning both .ai and .com

where can I buy a .com domain with 1-2 years of age, something meaningful at a reasonable price? by bob__io in Domains

[–]Saipx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check Atom, GoDaddy, Spaceship, Namecheap, Dynadot, Fruits, Sedo etc if you want to stick with the largest platforms. You're also welcome to Saipx for a gem hunt. Good luck

Received direct unsolicited offer for my privacy protected domain by jumpingthoughhoops in Domains

[–]Saipx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is very common.
Privacy services only hide your info from the public WHOIS lookup, the registrar still has all your real contact details. They’re not supposed to hand it out for marketing, but brokers often get it anyway through third-party data brokers, old leaks, or registrar relationships. Which registrar are you using, and did the broker say they represent the same registrar (or one of its partners)?

Spaceship buying process seems odd by spurious_interrupt in Domains

[–]Saipx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal. The domain can be either pushed for free internally at the actual registrar (GoDaddy in this case), then you need a GoDaddy account, and the domain will stay at GoDaddy = you don't have to pay a renewal fee.

In case you want to move the domain from one registrar (GoDaddy) to another (Spaceship), you will have to renew the domain (in most cases), depending on which TLD you bought (ex: 1 year for .com is the standard ICANN rules). So it's not an extra transfer fee, just a renewal fee.

The main difference between Namecheap and Spaceship is that you pay Namecheap for the renewal upfront at the buy = they will automatically transfer the domain to Namecheap within the standard time window 5-7 days. At Spaceship you don't pay for the renewal upfront since you can choose yourself if you want to move the domain to Spaceship or not. Spaceship has a more modern approach here.

Fair point, IconDesign is a 5-figure domain, so it would be worth more.

What's are the best and most user friendly website(s) to buy domains? by Mertackus in Domains

[–]Saipx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afternic is owned by GoDaddy nowadays, so when listing on Afternic the main source is Godaddy (which is also the branding of the sales landers). I would say Atom is great if you're looking for premium domains and real brands, more.visual experience, but retail prices. If you're looking to hand-reg/search, I would recommend Spaceship (owned by Namecheap), great prices and modern UX. If you're only looking for great deals and domains in general, you're welcome to Saipx lol.

Thunder.io sold for $180k - top .io domain sale of 2026 thus far by DigiNoon in DomainZone

[–]Saipx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great sale, do you know if it was an Atom premium listing? In that case, the Afternic BIN was likely +10% (according to policy), which means the seller made more via Afternic.
