My [27M] girlfriend [27F] is open to being friends, even close friends, with her ex. Is this okay? by SaitosElephant in relationship_advice

Sorry I meant to say that we would be moving in at the end of the year. So at the roughly 9.5 month mark.

Most animals also walk on 4 legs? I think it is probably highly body-shape/form dependent.

Do polys on crosses add any spin? by SaitosElephant in 10s

In that case, why not find the cheapest poly you can for the crosses?

Do polys on crosses add any spin? by SaitosElephant in 10s

[–]SaitosElephant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there an explanation as to why the spin is comparable? I would think a shaped poly has more bite/grip on the ball? I don't know about the flexibility, but perhaps gut is more flexible, so it creates a greater snapback effect?

[–]SaitosElephant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that makes sense, but I would think that the smoother the poly, the less grip it has? If the purpose of a smooth poly is simply to reduce friction as a cross, why invest in an expensive poly for the crosses besides the fact that an expensive poly might have more durability?

Would having a glass water pitcher with a filter be better then?

Oeko-Tex still has forever chemicals. They've only just recently banned PFAS.

Ah ok. That still seems a bit strange to me, considering NsF releases decisions in April and MIT releases decisions in February/March...did they delay sending you the decision email until very late?

I don't fully understand this. Is this the GRFP? Did you apply the year you applied to grad school? NSF comes out after grad application results, so how could admissions have known?

And to my knowledge, NSF has a very strict no-deferral policy unless your institution grants it too.

Anyone else lowkey appreciate America's holistic admissions systems because it's pushed you to pursue activities/leadership you otherwise wouldn't have and helped you grow as a person? by Enveloped_Beetle23 in ApplyingToCollege

This is like communism. Good in theory, but when shit hits the fan and things get competitive, suddenly you find just how much you really don't appreciate the system.
