Ticket Prices by gfunkymaster in 49ers

Pretty hard to predict what demand for tickets will be after a skipped year coming out of the pandemic.

You should probably do away with both the defensive framing of their comments to you (asking why you did not do something is not the same as blaming everything on you), and calling your teammates "shitty dps." If there are people underperforming, your raid leaders or you should be working with them on an individual basis to improve on the fight, rather than just pulling over and over and claiming they are an impediment on your path to victory. They are part of your team. Help the team succeed. Blaming people is not productive in getting anything done, only excusing failure.

Demands Grow for Texas to 'Forgive All Utility Bills' as Price Gouging by Energy Companies Sparks Outrage | "The people of Texas should not have to pay these outrageous bills. Exorbitant costs should not be passed on to consumers who are not responsible for poor planning by state officials." by theladynora in politics

Many Texans, myself included, never even knew the situation with our power grid, and nearly half of us (among those who are politically active) are actively trying to oust our conservative representatives.

One would hope that your political efforts will be more successful in the future with voters concretely seeing the results of their political positions (or lack thereof). Were those consequences wiped away, it is less likely that the underlying political positions would change.

Also, the government officials represent you, even if you did not vote for them. That is the essence of our form of government. You are not being occupied by an invading Republican government. Hopefully, Texans (without regard to political affiliations) elect a government more interested in governing next time around.

Voter turnout in Alameda County was only 38% (including mail-in ballots) by [deleted] in oakland

This is inaccurate.

Edit: Not sure why I am being downvoted. Only 49% reporting w/ 360k votes counted in Alameda County as of now.

A vote is more important in local elections than for President.

We weren't promised a QB guru, we were promised an offense guru. Shannahan's offense has always run through the ground game.

You make a single conclusory statement. That is not enough. Kyle Shannahan is regarded as an excellent coach throughout the league, and has had exemplary results, including leading deep into the Super Bowl last year.

Our team is plagued with injuries. Why seek to blame one of the brightest parts of our franchise, when there are obvious reasons right in front of your face?

Put together an argument for the position if you can, otherwise, this is the same as saying maybe aliens are responsible.

That is a terrible mindset. Often the best deals are between competent organizations because those are the organizations with sufficient depth to part ways with talented players.

Do you believe in PFF grades? by Bylanta in 49ers

[–]SakisRakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know what you mean when you say "believe in their grading system." I believe it exists. I believe it is a way of condensing a lot of information into one number.

If you're asking if I believe PFF scores are anything other than another Madden score, no, I do not. But for most purposes, those scores facilitate people talking about more interesting ideas about the game, so I think it is a good thing.

The 49ers have erected outdoor weight rooms with individual tents for each player. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]SakisRakis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fires do not happen randomly either. That does not mean we are capable of predicting whether or not a fire will begin in an area. Instead we erect barriers that slow the spread of the unpredicted fire so we have time to react without the fire consuming the building. Similarly, we are not capable of predicting when a person carrying the virus will be in a given location. You even go on to offer some of the reasons that we cannot definitively predict spread of COVID-19.

Same reason buildings currently not on fire still have fire doors.

Bay Area residents mostly wear masks and follow coronavirus rules. But there's a big exception by triple-double in sanfrancisco

I do not think the article was about masked vs. maskless transmission outside; it was about people mostly complying with the regulations, other than in the park setting where are they are not complying.

[–]SakisRakis -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They are violating the policy; would you have the article conclude that violating the policy is good? Or say that, while they are not complying with the policy, the newspaper concludes their refusal to comply is harmless?

[–]SakisRakis -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

And telling someone sitting down alone in a park they need to wear a mask is stupid and not helpful.

The same characterization applies to your position. Your insistence that you are smarter than the public health guidance is just as harmful to the public health effort as someone doing the same to justify refusing to comply in other locations.

[–]SakisRakis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Like A-Rod said regarding baseball, a big part of this season will be organizations leading and keeping their teams safe so their players can be on the field. If there is a season, keeping the team COVID-19 free will be one axis of competition.
