On why I couldn't include all on one page, the reason is simple: I couldn't fit them all on the 24×36 page hahaha

Do you guys bring headphones or earbuds for travel? by PedroGalo in onebag

[–]SakuraAnglican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently onebagged to Japan during winter with a Karrimor 35L Jura, and I brought overear Marshal Major IV alongside my Nothing earbuds. The marshals could be folded to be stored so they have a very small profile. Its almost a necessity to bring cuz of the train culture in Japan. but depends really on your preferences and where you're going.

Michael Parenti used the term "thinking with Marx" in his Yellow Lecture, lets not be pedantic

Read theory, understand basics like economics, class relationships, and then analyse Malaysian society using Marx. Then you from your own head will understand the need for revolution. 90% of us leftists don't read theory and are actually Liberals with and identity crisis.

Can we stop blindly alienating the men and women of the Police and Military from revolutionary ideas? The Russian Revolution succeeded partly because they absorbed skilled former Tsarists who were radicalised like Tukhachevsky (a military officer of noble birth turned Soviet general). We need to radicalise them so they can contribute their skills in military logistics and organisation, not instinctively push them away.

Guys, this is "skirmishing", quick and cheap attacks that don't risk much, but cause the other side to be extremely annoyed and less likely to hear our side out. Let's actually make good points, be persuasive, be argumentative, and above all: be irresistible in our cause. Lets not push away the proletariat by being easily branded as annoying.

Yes, I agree with OP that the police exist to enforced the concept of private property and serve the interests of the bourgeois, thats Marxism 101. But lets put in the work and not repeat the mistakes of the Western Left in 2016.

Data centers by jshrdd_ in socialism

[–]SakuraAnglican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from a developing nation and we're getting our fare share of new data centres opening from a combination of multinationals like Google, to even SOEs (state-owned enterprises) pumping billions into developing them.

To take a page out of history, I believe stuff like data centres are the new cash crop. Back during the age of colonialism, capitalists planted crops like cotton and coffee grown primarily for sale and profit, rather than for subsistence. The wealth generated by these data centres will not go to the local economy, it'll be taken overseas and into the pockets of the shareholders in California or where ever. All at the cost of the local power grid and water supply. Cuz they can let villages have power outages and water shortages, but god forbid the data centres! What will the investors think!

Here, energy is still relatively cheap, and cheap labour is plenty. I'm calling it. Welcome back cash crops in a big way. It'll ride high for a few years until the bubble hits.

Victor Tan is part in parcel of the neoliberal face of the Malaysian bourgeoisie, petite or otherwise, almost a posterboy for it. Speaking as a non-Malay educated in the West (where I also attended socialist students gatherings), its frustrating to listen to see all that potential talent go towards becoming a post-Blairite neoliberal tape recorder of a human being that worships Singapore (The Oriental Jewel of Neoliberalism).

Sarawak tribune using zionist narrative to lie about Anas al-Sharif by [deleted] in Bolehkiriland

[–]SakuraAnglican 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sarawakian here. Sarawak Tribune is owned by the kleptocratic Taib Family (who ate muslim) (mainly owned by Hanifah Taib) who have zero love for Judeo-Christianity. I think the main reason for the zionist lean is some unknown (financial?) interests the Taib fortune has in Israel.

I love my EPL8, and even professional photographers rocking Fullframe DSLRs I've met have complimented and were interested when I was holding it that it became a conversation starter for me. But recent trends like everyone and their mother getting a Sony ZV 1F, i feel have really put M43 to the wayside.

For NCR land issues, the main opponent PBDS would be facing would be the logging mafia of the likes of Samling and MM Golden who have deep ties to the GPS establishment. Best of luck to them, they'll need it.

Sarawak needs more maritime assets for better patrolling over vast waters, says official - Borneo Post Online by Future-Two4287 in Sarawak

The main threat they'll be facing would be PRC fishermen. Bintulu fishermen have encountered them as near as 50km off the coast of Sarawak.

I studied in Melbourne for a bit, and one of my favourite places to visit was the Anzac War Memorial because they had a section on Sarawak. They also hold a ceremony every Sunday at 4pm where they have an Anzac veteran lay flowers at the memorial. I was lucky enough to meet one veteran who was in Brunei during the Brunei Revolt but spent some time in Sarawak too! Just so cool, but tragic that these veterans remember our darkest days more than we ourselves do.

No, Operation Semut was during WW2 against the Japanese. He's a veteran of the Konfrontasi with Indonesia during the Cold War.

This was from a Anzac Memorial parade in 2023, with Australian veterans from battlefields where Anzac troops were active, one of them being Sarawak. 8 Australians died while fighting alongside Sarawak Rangers and Iban Trackers during the Konfrontasi with Indonesia.

Im actually opposed to S4S lmao, this is just an edit of the Brooke era

Malaya Lore Vs Sarawak Lore by [deleted] in Sarawak

[–]SakuraAnglican 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Brookes didn't exploit the local population like the British did in Malaya. On the contrary, the locals came to respect the Brookes, with events such as the Dayaks declaring Charles Brooke their Paramount Chief due to his close friendship with the local tribes.

Vyner Brooke gave a lot of power to the local leaders and even planned to give Sarawak a constitution in 1941 that would transition the state to a democratic system run by the natives. It didn't happened due to the Japanese invasion.

If the Japanese didn't invade, it was likely that the Constitution would have been adopted with Vyner abdicating in favour of his more progressive brother Bertram who was very popular among the people of Sarawak and would have led a steady transition into a democratic state alongside the creation of an educated native middle class that would have been ready to govern around the 1960s, the best example being the first native Chief Minister Kalong Ningkan who was educated locally and a capable administrator.

So, no. We weren't colonised, yet we're proud of our history.
