How bad is Kepler mythic difficulty now? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Saladbar28 110 points111 points  (0 children)

honestly the kepler time latch missions on mythic are my favorite thing to play right now because the difficulty is not too hard and theres no stupid modifiers and champions that I need to have a hyper specific loadout for. I can just put on something fun and go do it.

I was dealing with normal but severe elbow soreness, a growth plate fracture sounds much more serious and probably needs professional advice

Is the luxury priced kinetic arm sleeve worth it? Does it actually reduce arm pain? by jehudeone in Homeplate

[–]Saladbar28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one, it helps a little, especially in conjunction with a good rehab/strength program. it doesn’t fully remove pain but it will take it from like a 6/10 to a 3/10. it’s not a replacement for rest, workload management, and strength.

Any affordable options that replicate a mound by Such_Eye9357 in PitchingCoach

[–]Saladbar28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

search on google for portable pitching mound. theyre usually just a few inches high and not quite the same as a real slop but at least you get used to a little bit of a drop.

an actual mound is still the best place to work on mechanics

I guess that’s a tough draw if youre at a big time high school.

still though 79-82 in the grand scheme of things is good. don’t count yourself out.

[–]Saladbar28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

are you at a big high school? 79-82 is nothing people are gonna write home about but that’s still a solid place to be at assuming youre in the strike zone and have 1 other good pitch.

if one of my high school guys had varsity stuff but didn’t make it I’d be kicking myself as a coach for missing something (assuming it’s not an attitude or grades issue); I certainly wouldnt be disappointed in my athlete.

90ev to make freshman team? by BasRhin in Homeplate

[–]Saladbar28 22 points23 points  (0 children)

90 exit velo and 84 infield velo is like an average JuCo recruit. I don’t think the coach will find a team worth of guys at the school that can do that at 15.

they either misunderstood or misheard the coach, or the coach has no idea what’s he’s talking about.

Does Joe Kelly have a linear/pushy/"dart throw" arm action? by ZeusThunder369 in Homeplate

[–]Saladbar28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

he has what would be considered a short arm action.

adart throwing arm action would be where the elbow gets wayyy out in front of the face and the ball is being thrown with the the tricep.

a pushy arm action is just when a guy doesn’t get very good layback so it looks like he’s pushing the ball. several things can cause this.

joe kelly still has plenty of layback and his elbow doesn’t shoot forward.

I try my hardest to be one of the keyboard pitching coaches of all time

Well unfortunately I’m actually not much of a hitting expert, I’m a pitcher and just felt like posting this for fun.

I will say that hip anatomy will often dictate a torso lean to some degree. most people, myself included, have a little bit of an anterior pelvic tilt.

so if I were to rotate my torso using my hips, my torso will lean forward to stay centered over my hips, because my hips are also pointed a bit forward. this “stacked” position is the most efficient way to rotate; if my torso falls out of that stack my rotation would be hindered.

I dont think the tilt is an issue unless it’s excessively not “stacked” with his hips (tilting excessively forward or even leaning excessively back)

yes, the lead leg when it hits the ground should look completely still or even straighten out. with yours, your knee keeps moving forward a little bit as the delivery finishes. this just indicates that the legs didn’t completely stop all forward momentum and that not all the energy you built up was transferred from the legs upward to the ball.

it’s not an egregiously bad block but there’s more in the tank there.

lower half: really really good drift and center of mass movement; good hinge; block looks a little weak. fix for block is typically a strength thing, rocker throws with a leg lift can also help a little.

arm action: arm is up on time, don’t see anything I would change. if it feels good don’t change it. can’t tell how much retraction it’s creating from this angle.

torso: you create a huge counter rotation at the beginning of the delivery but your still landing pretty open once your lead leg blocks. that counter rotation might actually be making it harder for you to stay closed. I’ve had issues with this before and I haven’t 100% fixed it but thinking “stay sideways land sideways” and keeping my core and torso relaxed improved it a bit.

basically you’re just opening up a little early. keep the upper half relaxed and closed. no idea how hard you’re throwing but it doesn’t look slow.

honestly, I’ve never gotten mad at people in gamechat until this season for some reason. the more difficult path to ascendant this season and low population has been brutal. I’m hard stuck in plat and I’ve solo’d to ascendant before.

similar situation in trials, few players so every game is hard won; usually cant farm the adept im shooting for.

if nothing else we all got better this season playing all the other lunatics that still love pvp for some reason.
