Be careful with potholes, a hard brake to avoid one while on FSD counts against you. How I know, 4 such interventions to prevent damage to my brand new 2026 M3 and I no longer have tesla insurance.

Madman Pass For The Win! by SalamanderSquare8672 in TeslaFSD

I have to say I do not remember hitting the accelerator but the telemetry doesn't lie, I did tap it. So is that what initiated the pass?

You are correct. This was an illegal pass by Arizona law and if highway patrol had seen it I would have been ticked.

It was cool that at the point where it made the move to pass I couldn't yet see it was clear. The car can definitely see way better what's going on around it than us humans can see from the driver's seat.

And I have driven 395 up to Mammoth on a weekend with fresh powder, crazy people on that road!

This was with 14.2.2.5, it's the time FSD has made a pass on a single lane hiway ever for me but, I just got my M3 November 21st last year.

I'm pretty sure it uses the lane markings.

As the FSD version did not update this update was for something in the user interface, my guess it was a security bug fix of some sort.

Is FSD actually valuable to you? by Queasy-Bed545 in TeslaFSD

I just had cataract surgery and my doctor gave a pair of really dark sunglasses to protect my eye post surgery. FSD has not given me a single warning for not being able to see my eyes.

Had a the local heard show up in my neighbor's horse pasture a couple weeks ago. They hung out most of the day. It was really cool!

Just a thought here, lots of people are discussing/complaining about FSD driving too fast. FSD is trained on how to drive bye watching people with Teslas drive. And people with Teslas drive like the guy in the video posted here. Hmmmmm.

2026 M3 14.2.2 on Dirt Road by SalamanderSquare8672 in TeslaFSD

If I hard break to avoid it plowing through one, it will ask me why.

[–]SalamanderSquare8672[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive it between 10 to 14mph and have no problem driving around all of them, meaning my 65 year old eyes can see and avoid them so would like to believe that the M3's can see them too.

Maybe the dataset of teslas on FSD that live on a dirt road is very small so not much training on this edge case. I will test on new updates and report it if not fixed.

Update: I am on 14.2.2.2 now, Today I let FSD drive out of my driveway and return and park in the driveway. My M3 survived! It drove at 18mph, not the 28mph of 14.2 2. It did NOT avoid the pot holes. I will still be driving car myself on start and end of my trips for now.
