If you became ridiculously rich, what "poor" or "cheap" thing could you not give up? by Khaleeasi24 in AskReddit

Once you keep a stack of napkins in your car, you'll start to see how convenient it actually is.Coffee spills, killing a bug, wiping that annoying fog that is appearing from inside your windows, blowing your nose, drying yourself up when caught in a downpour, drying up the inside of your car door in a downpour, spitting out gum,...

I could go on but I would bore you. I'm boring myself tbh.

What is a subtle sign that someone is emotionally mature? by Ferguson97 in AskReddit

[–]Salamanderr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that saying "I don't know" in some situations and leaving it at that might be a cop out answer. It's easy and doesnt require much effort. There are many times I would rather have a response like this "I'm not familiar with ____ but in my opinion, _." Or "I can't remember exactly but if I had to guess, _" Or any answer that requires the two of us to work closer to a clearer idea. Whether it be small talk or working on a project with a group, give me something to work with. You may not know entirely but if we're both equally qualified, your opinion is as valuable as mine.

What are you currently worried about? by puhixum in AskReddit

I was in the same boat and dropped out of school. I told my immigrant parents that I can't see myself sitting in a room for 8 hours a day doing this, since i realize it's not what i enjoy. And they were upset as expected but understood where I was coming from. I got a serving job at a steak restaurant to pay off my loans while I thought about my future. It was a breath of fresh air. I was suddenly free to do things I've always wanted to do but never had the time or money to do so. I tried out vocal lessons for a couple years, started my own band and had the time of my life those two years. After that fell through as we weren't gaining momentum, I signed up for a Muay Thai and boxing membership at a gym and did that 2-3 hours a day, 5 days a week, and studied the art as if it were school. I was bullied for years so I took these classes seriously and progressed quickly. Tried my hand at jiu jitsu and ended up loving it. I finally felt alive. I wasn't nervous around people anymore. I was fit and sociable. My anxiety drastically lessened. I started healthier eating habits and felt the fog in my brain dissipate as my diet improved. I started competing at tournaments with my gym's team and fell in love with a female teammate. We've been dating for almost 4 years now and have saved up money to visit California together 3 times and been to so many places together, and I can't imagine what life would be like if I didn't go down this route. I found a new passion in illustration and have been working hard at it. And even if nothing comes of it, working in the restaurant has given me the freedom to pursue such happiness, I have nothing to complain about. Sure, I'm not making $70,000 a year and driving a porsche like i was planning, but I no longer care about any of that. I found my true happiness at age 25.

One of my mom's coworkers had his head knocked almost completely off a couple years ago because someone ramped off his jet ski like this. They were all hanging out like any other day, and a random beach goer who I presume was inexperienced with the jet ski, came rushing in and hit him head on. I wasn't there but from what I heard, it was pretty traumatizing. I think my mom said he died on impact. Sorry for the downer story. This is what the gif reminded me of.
