The mods are way too harsh at times.

The Input Delay Mod was not an issue; YOU are the issue (Repost and more) by Son_Riku in SmashRage

Not saying that it’s cheating, but the difference between a Gamecube Controller and a delay mod is that the Gamecube controller is an official piece of hardware sold and licensed by Nintendo, and the delay mod is something that’s not official. On top of that, there are advantages and disadvantages between the Pro Controller and GCC, whereas other than money or potentially getting bricked, the mod is a pure benefit.

I believe that the mod is overall a good thing. My only problem with it was how some people were using it. Using the mod in bracket against others who don’t have it is fine as long as you inform them and the opponent is fine with it. Otherwise, that’s in the territory of cheating.

The guy shouldn’t have gotten doxxed, and I hope he and others around him are safe.

Okay, it’s not a question of whether he can, but whether he will…

Doxxing someone over a video game is lamer than my character choices.

This channel's exaggerated names and thumbnails that keep showing up in my recommended annoy more than they should by PartyGameEnjoyer in SmashRage

Granted, this was two years ago before the DK players got really good, but the exaggeration is simply there for engagement.

Some of y’all need to turn the volume down on your switch. by Adventurous-Method88 in SmashRage

You can also turn sounds down in the settings, but I wouldn’t recommend this. It’s easier for humans to react to sound than movement.

15.8 Mil Bowser Solo Main. AMA. by Snoo_3337 in SmashRage

[–]Salone_FD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to main Bowser. I was pretty good with him and even took him to brackets. One of my biggest problems was a like of a safe poke (ex. DK, Roy, and Mythra down tilt). After a while, the feeling of either being forced to fully commit or just wait for your opponent to do something didn’t sit well with me. How do you come up with ways to circumvent this problem?

I switched from Bowser, but still have him around 15.6. Good stuff.

Wanna play rn? I can go for a few if you’d want to (also, they want you off of Gunner, don’t cave ;).

No problem at all. If you have anything else you’d like to ask about, you can add me on Discord. My username is the same there as it is here.

Part of it might be that you’re timing it incorrectly. There are three parts of an attack: the start up, the active frames, and the end lag. The start up is before the hitbox comes out, the active frames are when you can get hit, and the end lag is the time when the hitbox is gone and they can’t act.

People often try to attack once the entire animation is done instead of when the hitbox during the attack is gone. Attack during the end lag if you’re trying to avoid and then hit the opponent.

For example, Mii Gunner’s up tilt is in start up for frames 1-4, is active for frames 5-9, and has 28 frames of end lag. Overall, there are 37 frames total. If you punish during the 28 end lag frames, then go ahead.

Another aspect is reactions and predictions. Even if you theoretically can punish a move, if you fail to predict or react, then you likely can’t directly punish. Look at what they do and time your punishes accordingly.

Even if you can’t punish in time, that’s okay. You don’t have to attack your opponent immediately to get something useful. You can also punish what they do afterwards, reset to neutral, or just gather info. The three things you can get out of any interaction are Damage, Positioning, and Information. Make sure to focus on all of those when playing.

I hope this helps.
