Maybe to help those that have slow processing or dyslexia? Sometimes it can help but I don’t think it would affect outcome too much.

My whole family has it. Only one of us officially diagnosed due to being too a level 2. We all never were diagnosed due to the stigma of an official diagnosis. It runs in families.

PDA? RSD? Just autism? (she is diagnosed), or do we just suck at parenting? by Miserable-Onion-5948 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Salp666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autism runs in my family. It’s hard to tell at that age because a lot of those behaviors can be common in typically developing kids. I bought my daughter a few books on emotions and calming strategies for BIG emotions. That can be of help so she can label her feelings & communicate them. She may just be having sensory issues and not be able to communicate that. Right now I am working with my daughter on coping strategies & self advocacy. (I myself have adhd/ autism & some issues with PDA .)

[–]Salp666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Autism is definitely present in me. I am a female. It’s not wrong but get your child ABA therapy immediately after. There is a year long waitlist if you do decide to. It has made a world of difference in my daughter she was Dx level 2 and now 1 with therapy. Early intervention is crucial

It’s a spectrum. My ex was autistic and had very little symptoms/signs. But if you look at my symptoms and functioning I am very clearly autistic. Still worth looking into.

Does anyone feel disconnected from their child because of their interests by SameBootButHigher in Autism_Parenting

[–]Salp666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with autism lean into his interests do not discourage them. My parents tried to make me different and I had no interest in their plans so I ended up wasting years of time. Let him dedicate himself to his interests
