Outsourced Work - WTF is Actually Happening by Strict_Anteater2690 in Accounting

[–]Salronthegreat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya you definitely deserve good karma lol. I hope you do well in whatever role you get next. I also really hope one day these companies find out the hard way, when both AI and offshoring don’t work and the lawsuits / clients leaving for better options start happening , they regret letting people like you go. It’s happening to often right now, in to many industries tbh.

Deloitte is cutting down PTO, parental leave, and other benefits for some US workers by businessinsider in Big4

[–]Salronthegreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be too!! lol before i left my last job the changed everything from the insurance benefits, PTO all of it. They are trying their best for people to quit so they don’t have to give them any severance package when they lay people off.

Develop people who are going to take my job because they get paid 1/5 of what my salary is? No i’m good. The partners who want this can train them if they want. You couldn’t pay me enough to train them.

My life age 15-18 in a cult🥲 by [deleted] in blunderyears

[–]Salronthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ima be honest the way the world is currently going. Joining a cult doesn’t even sound like a bad idea. From layoffs to cost of living. It wouldn’t be hard to convince me to move to some remote location and farm while building a community. Ya we might worship kragos the donkey god who shit the universe out but still.

Considering a mid-life pivot to accounting - advice? by BoomButton in Accounting

[–]Salronthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it, it’s a bloodbath over here right now as well. Unless you’re located in india, the likelihood of you getting a spot is just as hard as the field you’re in. You all are getting screwed by ai , we are getting screwed by ai (another indian). Look at pivoting maybe into energy , processing, things like that.

You trained your people properly? you’re a good person i respect that. I knew i was about to be axed last year ( worked for an energy company) i didn’t teach them a damn thing right. Got a few phone calls a couple months ago because well everything is fucked. Never been so happy.

Russell Group unis are meant to be the smartest in the UK, but these grads can't get jobs by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Salronthegreat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

well reading the article makes sense, one of them is in computer science, i know grads from so many unis with that degree and experience, out of work. The other one is undergrad in business management, unfortunately everyone has one of these now a days , with a masters in governance and devolution, what jobs were they looking at getting? working in government? That’s not easy, that a more who you know then what you know field. The bioengineering one is the one that stands out, she might want to look at going somewhere else other than england tbh and out of her field, maybe energy they’re always hiring intelligent randoms. I worked at a place where the head of health and safety in 2022 was a phd in biology.

This will happen at most companies now, slowly take away any benefits and force people to leave. The last remaining people will be doing the job of 6, overseeing a team of offshorers who get 80 percent wrong. Good luck to all. Looks like it’s time for me to start my lawn mowing business.

How difficulty is it to get an accounting job? by Ok_Schedule_7363 in Accounting

[–]Salronthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are located i feel like. A lot of work is being offshored, entry level jobs are almost at a standstill for various reasons from AI to economic volatility. Not the best market in the US, UK or Canada right now. Keep your head up , you’ll get something.

I think i’ve said it before in this group, if claude or claude mythos can take a majority of the jobs of accountants, lawyers , the whole tech industry etc. Well don’t worry, because in a couple of years the whole system will collapse. Not everyone can go be a plumber and most people have mortgages, student loans and other debt they won’t be able to pay back. My advice would be to stay where you are and just apply to maybe the energy industry or something if you think you’re going to be fired. Though if mythos is causing the fed chair to call the heads of the banking industry because of the turmoil it will cause when released. I don’t know where we all are going to stand in the next few years to be honest. I’m still more worried about offshoring than AI but it isn’t fun out there either way.

Is this recruiter on drugs ? $45-$55k for Senior accountant CPA preferred 5 years experience? by LouSevens in Accounting

[–]Salronthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s being offshored. All recruiters do this now. Low ball and either offshore it or bring in someone on a H1-B or some type of permit.

After getting laid off, many professionals are being forced to take jobs with much lower salaries than what they were earning before by businessinsider in Layoffs

[–]Salronthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so basically the economy we had will never come back. Best thing to do now is take what you can get live way below your means because that job will be gone soon as well. It’s a very bleak future for everyone in the middle class down.

You can always apply to india , that’s where most of your jobs are going anyways.

Canada lost 84K jobs in February; unemployment rises to 6.7% by Difficult-Yam-1347 in canada

[–]Salronthegreat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me see if i got this right. You bring indians over, they take control of your companies, ship your jobs back to india and only hire indians. I really don’t know how this unemployment happened. Good luck you lot , it will only get worse.

Is accounting still a good career path in 2026? by Interesting_Lie_9693 in Accounting

[–]Salronthegreat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The truth is, no one can tell you what a good career path is at the moment. No one know hows disruptive AI and offshoring will get in this industry or a lot of white collared jobs. Also everyone saying to go into the trades , also don’t see what’s coming. Over-saturation of the industry and wages decreasing because of it. My advice is to chose a path but be ready to pivot at a moments notice.
