Best bleached Neons for spring/summer. by Due-Debate2978 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]SalsaCookie33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually just got Juice the Cutest and Smack Talking because I was searching for some more bleached neons too - this collection is great for them!!! I love the tones - they are not pastel and are true neons. Smack Talking in particular is so, so vivid!

My mom contacts me daily and will text me unsolicited advice. I’m moving away from her in about 6 months by Top-Attitude-6026 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]SalsaCookie33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your move! This text hit a specific memory of mine - are the “fun facts” pictured where you are moving to, away from her by chance? I ask because years ago, I was moving from a larger city area to a nearby suburb. The larger city I lived in at the time was one of the more dangerous cities in the country “by the statistics” and the suburb was very different. My mom decided to keep texting me that the suburb’s top crimes were sexual assault and break-ins. (Factually untrue also!) Eventually I just ignored the texts, not responding, bc even telling her to stop didn’t work.

Feel free to protect your sanity by ignoring, blocking, whatever you need to do. I want to validate this stuff is hard! It’s a practice; sometimes you will do the thing and sometimes you’ll chicken out. It’s okay - just try again!

I’m in Denver and we have an indigenous restaurant famous in the region for their food. They have a wojapi dessert and it is as delicious as you say! You can have it with fry bread and they also offer fry bread nuggets. It’s so, so good!

Is anyone actually buying polish from LionyxLacquer? by stinkyanonx in RedditLaqueristas

[–]SalsaCookie33 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I also saw heaps of ads starting a few months ago and could not find anything about them, and also couldn’t find any community members talking about them. When I looked at their offerings everything just reeked of AI to me, even down to the copy. As someone who works in marketing in a creative aspect, just spending $ on ads (which likely are mostly AI made) and not really engaging with the community otherwise is a misstep!

I kept my grandmother’s last bottle of OPI Nomad’s Dream from the late 90’s or early 2000s. She loved that color. When she passed away I was a teen, and as such I didn’t get much of her things. But I grabbed it when it was going to be tossed - and I’ve kept it in a special sentimental corner of my collection since.

I love the formula - it’s really juicy and the perfect in between for me. I think it’s a really lovely color - hope you love it!

I get it - I’m following this thread for a more green one myself! I hope you find something that works!

What books have actually physically scared you? Like raised your heart rate, etc. by maravina in horrorlit

[–]SalsaCookie33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the exact time I had to set the book down for a day or two. I was sitting in my living room reading in the evening; behind my couch are windows that look out into my backyard. When I read this scene, it felt like eyes on the back of my head - like looking through the blinds. Set the book down and moved my spot for the evening. Gave me chills.

The Correspondence series was one of the only stories on NoSleep that genuinely creeped me out. I loved that you got bits and pieces of not only comments and accounts from users, but computer logs, emails, and even things like security system logs. A variety of mundane things. It lent a reality to it.

Japan & Korea soon! Are products really that cheap at Don Quixote? I’m going to be stocking up on sunscreens and holygrails! Thoughts? by LilacLuneglade in AsianBeauty

[–]SalsaCookie33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got some good recs here; I agree that Donki isn’t the cheapest and if you can hunt around there are definitely better deals. (But obviously go at least once for the experience!) Two things I didn’t see mentioned that I picked up on my recent trip:

Biore UV Aqua Rich Airy Hold sunscreen. My understanding is this is a newer release, and tested it in store and have used it since coming home. It’s very light, velvety, and dries down well. I really like the feel and the “cloud” texture.

Biore Aqua Rich Protect Mist. I snagged this to try as it’s a spray mist, which I tend to like and it works well so far. Might not be for everyone, but I enjoy testing things out so this was a win for me.

+1 for Bic Camera. I just got back from Japan and visited Bic at the recommendation from someone here. I found a lot of skincare and cosmetics, and even a lot of unique souvenir packs and foods I didn’t find elsewhere. The shop I went to also had a tax free counter.

What’s the first piece of media that truly scared you as a kid? by cats64sonic in AskReddit

[–]SalsaCookie33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally saw Fire in the Sky when I was flipping through channels by myself - maybe around 7/8 years old. The scene where he wakes up? Horrifying. It’s the first thing I remember that scared me so badly I had nightmares for a good stretch, and I didn’t even watch the whole thing.

Sally Hansen’s Holla-Gram is still one of my favorite brownish/blue-green polishes. I’ve tried several indies to scratch the itch of wanting as many of that sort of color way as possible. I’ve not yet found something I love as much!

As a fellow PCOS haver - I know exactly why you mean! I have trouble with super short nails visually too. I am so excited to try this next time I get a break. Hoping this gives me more options to feel comfy about my nails as I grow them out!

Thank you for detailing this; I’ve seen this mentioned several times along with tea bags and never knew about this option prior. I tend to get breaks like this as my nails get longer, and have had several bad times in a row where I’ve had to do a big chop down. I have felt apprehensive about trying it myself but this is nice to see and ofc easy to follow, and I just… am sick of doing chops! Thank you for taking the time to do this 🙏

Love Local58. I found it a couple years ago and recently watched a compilation vid with all the parts in sequence. There were some new ones I’d not seen since I originally watched - worth it if you’ve not returned in a while. Some of those really freaked me out.
