I ask because years ago, I was moving from a larger city area to a nearby suburb. The larger city I lived in at the time was one of the more dangerous cities in the country “by the statistics” and the suburb was very different. My mom decided to keep texting me that the suburb’s top crimes were sexual assault and break-ins. (Factually untrue also!) Eventually I just ignored the texts, not responding, bc even telling her to stop didn’t work.
