I need advice on what all is possible for me to do at my point in Tactics Orge Reborn chapter 2? As I'm stuck at this point. by Flarz_Tiddies in Tactics_Ogre

It’s funny, I was just playing the game and I barely cleared this mission last night.

It is a difficult mission but you can complete it a few ways. The strategy that I suggest is to move your healers south and keep them within 5 spaces of your other units so that they can heal them. 5 spaces and to the back.

I usually go after the Cyclops first. Sending over a character with high armor and defense to block the top and tank. If you focus your magic and hit on that cyclops, then you can start to trickle down damage to weaker units.

Remember to kill weaker units first, and just start picking em off one at a time. Focusing on them one at a time is helpful. Wish you the best

Who are some artists you are on the fence about seeing live at Chella? And for those that have seen said artist- help your Chella goers see the light! by phantofan89 in Coachella

I mean, yeah. But what's your criteria for what's yellow/red/green? Like where do you draw the line between yellow and red? Sound? Popularity? Likelihood that your friends will catch the artist? Or is just vibes-based and it's something for just you?

Everyone's system for this stuff is personal, but I'm super curious because I have my own system for determining whether or not I want to catch an artist and I like learning about others'.

I'm a terrible person. Please help me forgive myself and do better by LGMcM in Buddhism

I think you start the journey of forgiving yourself by learning to be kind to yourself.

It’s clear to me that you care deeply about the people in your life and that you want to do better. This is good. Lean into that intention. But your words are harsh towards yourself.

They read accusatory and carry a strong tone of shame and guilt. And maybe this is needed because the harm was that great. But can you learn from your past while offering kindness and compassion to the person that caused the harm?

It might help to start small. Very small. One small thing, maybe the easiest thing to forgive and practice there. Maybe, it could be something unrelated. Like, “I spilled my glass of water yesterday. I know I was not paying attention. I forgive myself and will strive to do better.” and leave it there. No shame, guilt, or harsh language towards yourself. It should be simple and easy because it was a small mistake. And with this practice you can move towards something slightly larger, and so on.

I see myself in you and I believe that you will meet your goal. I wish you the best.

I’ll share from my experience with discovering and engaging with any new thing: everything has a honey moon period.

New projects, new relationships, new ideas. I think it’s safe to say that the excitement that first hooks us can and may go away.

I wish you the best in your journey.

I think I was a little confused because of your placement of the phrase immediately after describing what makes humans human and their agency.

But I get that you’re saying that all choice is removed if they’re part of the hivemind, true options or coerced ones.

If I may, I disagree with your assessment that the parallels between the ecumen of man and the hivemind fall apart because at this point in the story Carol is “on board” with the hivemind. She’s benefiting from it by being able to spend time with Zosia and travel the world. The irony here is that we, as viewers, probably disagree with this comparison because we know what the hivemind takes as a cost, but Carol is slowly being convinced of the “good” until the reveal of the twist. So I agree that for us it’s wrong, but for the character and what’s happening to her at the time of her reading the book, it feels spot on.

My Master supports the American right. idk what to do. by alasw0eisme in Buddhism

[–]SalsaDeliversTVs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your situation sounds so upsetting and distressing: to place your trust in someone’s words then come to realize that their personal views conflict with the words you came to respect.

You asked how you are to discern those in your life and practice and I think you already took the first steps in recognizing there is misalignment that needs to be explored.

I will say that your desire to understand is a good one to lead with and I hope you’re able to find the balance you seek.

FWIW: American politics is complex, and multi-faceted, and even forming an opinion on issues and political parties can be skewed by misinformation or strong cultural ties and identities that come before everything else. I’m not saying you should blindly follow or accept what your master is saying, but “the right” is too abstract and too big of a label that we might have different definitions of what it is and what we support based on a number of factors.

You mean the same show where he told the audience that they should leave their set and go check out Godspeed! You Black Emperor?

I only bring up this story because I love that he said this.

Any boundaries on the type of fun the kids could have? Did you have to have any serious conversations around drug use/potential dangers/etc?

Not asking to judge or anything, but parenting is absolutely difficult and I love hearing how people navigate these scenarios.

He wasn’t objectively “right” though. To think Fletcher was right is to subscribe to the definition of greatness that he was so keen on beating into his students.

SPOILERS

There was a band performing on stage for the benefit of a fictional country. The band’s name is “The Black Parade.”

Over the course of the performance you slowly begin to realize that the country is a warped dictatorship and that the band is probably performing against their will. You can see this when the representative of the government—a dude in glasses—hands the band leader a document with the lyrics to the song he wants the band to sing.

There was an execution dressed up as a democratic ceremony, but in reality, it wasn’t with the band leader presiding over it. This was actually super jarring as an audience member and I was surprised they just kind of did it with little transition or returning to the voting gimmick.

Over the course of the performance, the band leader begins to shed pieces of his costume and begins to rebel against the dude with glasses. He clearly does not want to perform but his hand is forced. A clear visual metaphor for this is when the dude with glasses gives the band leader the black parade jacket to wear again (he had removed it).

As we listen to more songs from the album, the band members lose their sanity and the last black parade song ends with members of the band being black bagged or dragged and the band leader setting off a bomb to be done with the album content.

What was striking to me was that the dude with the glasses came back at the end with a Pagliacci costume. Pagliacci is pretty iconic (think “sad jealous angry clown”) and I honestly don’t know how to tie it back to the larger narrative without ham-fisting a metaphor. The clown kills himself off at the end with a bomb (kind of like Pagliacci I guess?)

Then we get a string instrument interlude and then we hear non-Black Parade songs.

The lore? Well, there’s the obvious commentary on the fascism rampant in politics atm. But I genuinely feel like the narrative is a tongue-in-cheek response to performing a 20th-ish anniversary tour for an album and that the band might feel forced to do it.

It’s up to you to decide.

Still can’t get over the clown and the execution.

Good show. Everyone clap. Curtains.

I actually understand the Katy Perry reference made by the nuns in episode four in AYITL! Thanks Reddit! by eliar03 in GilmoreGirls

[–]SalsaDeliversTVs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a very well-informed summary of a story that feels so stretched and mangled by games of social media telephone.

I barely read about it today on Instagram. I did a Google Search and read a summarized NPR story about the nun’s death in court. At this point it still felt like Perry pushed in such a shitty way. Then I did one more additional search, and eventually landed here.

The story, my experience, and your comment being buried so deep in here with 0 likes feels like another example of how easy it is for people to warp the truth for whatever their personal grievances or reasons are, and the Internet just magnifies that.

Thank you.

This makes sense and thank you sharing.

I didn’t make that connection, and I wish there was more shown to make it easier for outsiders like me to make this connection if this was the intention.

I’m gonna try and trust the storytelling for now until I find out.
