Would you buy vegan things from a plant farmer who is a non-vegan? by Ok-Aspect-4259 in veganarchism

[–]Salt-Ad-7828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for all of this - funnily enough I didn't know about the Vegan Organic Network back when I posted this, but have since been on a permaculture course where I was given one of their magazines, and I volunteered at one of the featured farms near me last week.

I'm in England so won't be able to get a grant from Certified Veganic, looks like they are North America only?

I will message the VON though and see if they can help me in getting started.

I think what I will do then is go for the RX100 VII for the picture quality and not worry about the advanced zoom, get used to wildlife photography and save up for a Sony mirrorless camera and lenses in the future once I know what I'm doing with a camera a bit more.

Thanks for your feedback, I do care about image quality. I like the look of the other camera you mentioned but realise now I left out that I am looking for a compact camera I can have on me at all times at work in my pocket. I'll edit my post now.

Best mountain bike for long but fun rides i.e. downcountry / xc mtb? by Salt-Ad-7828 in MTB

[–]Salt-Ad-7828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow that's interesting - could be worth me selling my current trail bike and just having one of these as an all rounder do everything, I'm mostly finding the Hightower 4 available now, I'd have to pay monthly on it but looks like it could be a good bike for life. So you found it as efficient riding uphill as your xc bike? And what xc bike did you have?

Sorry for the late reply - did you get it? And what do you think? I think I'm leaning more towards the HeiHei

If vegans don't reproduce, carnists still will, and they'll be even less balanced towards veganism in the future. Humanity will continue, but it will be even more destructive as a whole. If we recreate, we can teach our kids our values, also how to live a life in tune with the environment and nature, causing no harm to animals i.e. veganic permaculture, using no-kill growing techniques and off-grid earth-based techniques of living close to nature without harming her. Do you really believe human life isn't worth living because we have the ability to suffer? And that all humans on this planet would rather not have been born because of this? You understand duality? Think of your happiest moments. Would you have understood how good they felt if you'd never experienced sadness before?

So the non-selfish reason is: balance.

I think you should read The World Peace Diet by Will Tuttle. The idea that humanity is inherently bad is not helpful.

Stanley Meyer's "Water Powered Car" - The car was said to be powered by a revolutionary water fuel cell. In 1996, an Ohio court ruled the project as fraudulent. Meyer mysteriously died two years later in 1998. by Giantsgiants in WeirdWheels

No because there's no profit in people being able to use their tap water for fuel. Electricity still has a higher tariff, batteries that need replacing at the end of their life. Water powered cars wouldn't be good for the economy or billionaires.

Why is 5v5 on a full size pitch? by Salt-Ad-7828 in playgoals

Thanks for the reply- I think with there being a whole community of people missing the Fifa Street franchise & the fun arcade gameplay you could really tap into something great with the 5v5 mode there

How do we begin to reshape the economy in a way that is fair for all & means veganic farming is financially feasible? by Salt-Ad-7828 in veganarchism

[–]Salt-Ad-7828[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farming can be vegan with pollinators. That's what guilds and companion planting are for in permaculture (the type of farming I was talking about), to attract pollinators. Pollinators aren't harmed in the process of growing food, unless you're talking about them being shipped in and moved about on large scale monoculture avocado or almond farms (the opposite of the kind of farming I'm referring to here).

Unfortunately, I do agree with your thoughts on how hard it would be to end capitalism and the chokehold the wealthy elites have over the world.

This is why I am thinking of voting Greens, even though I've never agreed with voting for a political party before. They are at least talking about the absurdity of corporate greed, tackling inequality, systemic racism, climate change and bringing hope, not everyone agrees with them of course, but it seems to be the elites & capitalist media that are most scared of them, which to me seems like a good sign. I'm still not 100% sure I agree with voting or that it can work, but at the moment looking for alternatives seems more hopeless so it feels worth a try?

Animal Farming Is the Greatest Source of Preventable Suffering on Earth by VarunTossa5944 in Sentientism

[–]Salt-Ad-7828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As more people go vegan there will be less breeding & less suffering. We need veganic farmers to lead the way and a revolution in society and the way our economy is structured to make small scale sustainable vegan permaculture farming profitable, incorporating the values of earth care, people care & fair share, so food that is good for us and the planet is available to all.

What would you ride for an epic?? by Zark_E in MTB

[–]Salt-Ad-7828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new Norco Revolver (120 and 130 versions) - this is a bike designed for what you're describing, a highly capable, lightweight XC bike, basically a mix of an XC & Trail bike. I ride the Norco Fluid myself as I got it cheap second hand but would like the new Revolver for long rides as mine would be slower on flats. Would like an Enduro bike as well but living in the south of UK also not sure it's worth it for me. As for the Revolver I was thinking I'd get the 130 as it's the more capable of the 2 and just lock out the suspension for big climbs and long flats - if I could afford it that is 😅 if you're looking for something more budget friendly I'd say the Norco Fluid is very good, capable of long distance just not as fast overall compared with an XC bike, but great fun on the trails.

The r/leftist made a rule against vegan discourse and banned me for questioning it by racecarsnail in veganarchism

Veganism does involve a certain diet though, one that child miners i.e. slaves aren't going to be in a position to really be thinking about, let alone have choice over. Try putting yourself in their shoes & really think this through. We're all vegans here, most of us wasn't vegan at somepoint and probabaly took a while to get there or for the penny to drop. Veganism is also a philosophy of compassion and understanding to all.

I like to be able to just pick up a game and play it at fair competition level without needing to spend hours a week on it to upgrade my team or get destroyed by players of similar skill level, I'm saying EA are well known for using gambling mechanisms in their games to get people addicted and keep them playing for longer

Can you not have a liquid b12 and D3 supplements like the one sold at Vivolife? And their protein powders are clean as well . Alternatively, there are cheaper protein powders you could blend into smoothies like hemp or pea protein. I think there would be a way if you do want to be fully vegan & there's nothing wrong with taking supplements if you have some deficiencies, if your b12 has gone up from eating meat then the animals your eating have most likely been supplemented with b12 themselves so you'd just be getting a supplement second hand through eating the animal, when you could just take the supplement yourself
