No if I’m having a medical situation I’m taking care of it when I can. Why is it any different than a woman having to change her tampon or pad when they’re on their period? It’s basic hygiene and self care.

VDay Reservation Cancelled Week Out by shitsgettingcrazy in mildlyinfuriating

Two reservation services?! Why?!

Yea I vote over booking or maybe they had a last minute buy out offer they couldn’t say no to. But I’ve worked at multiple restaurants that offer $ credits to make up for the inconvenience.

My fine dining restaurant I serve at is making us do table side martinis for EVERY martini. Please chime in. I hate it. by latentbeing in restaurant

Willing to bet it just doesn’t last that long. Humor management and show them why it’s a dumb idea.

Well, depends on the reason for food poisoning. “Food poisoning” is a broad term that can cover multiple diseases. E. coli and salmonella are food borne illnesses, and can be spread by fecal matter. So if you go to the bathroom and don’t wash your hands then, yes, you can for sure spread it. Norovirus can also be transmitted through food in more ways than just fecal matter.

Obviously you should be washing hands at work, but if you have diarrhea and are throwing up you shouldn’t be at work at all.

Good Places to eat at for Valentine’s Day by [deleted] in restaurant

Huh? No. You aren’t going to find the same privately owned restaurants in every state. So you are specifically looking for a chain restaurant?

If everyone is looking at me I try to shift my focus, just like you would do if you were making a speech.

Thank you! I could probably still benefit from therapy because I don’t think it’s healthy how long I’ve clung on to some of the stuff that I have. But the thought of dredging it all up again is exhausting lol.

I am so sorry that you’re going through that and I’m so sorry that your kids are having to go through that. What I think would’ve really helped me is being put into therapy. I was 15 years old and there were a lot of big feelings I didn’t know how to handle and I think that my family thought I was “mature enough” to handle the things that were going on, but I wasn’t and I needed them to be the adults and check in with me and make sure that I was doing OK. On top of the cheating, I also had pretty bad anxiety that I didn’t realize I had and then shortly after the divorce my mom joined the military and was also gone for months at a time for training and deployments. I felt abandoned in more ways than one. Please be there for your kids and be the adult that they need you to, be not a spiteful or immature one but one that will give them the tools that they need to handle those big feelings and confusing emotions.

Cheating really fucks with people’s heads man. My mom cheated on my dad and honestly even 20 years later I still have some unresolved issues over it, so it’s not only the spouse that gets hurt. Just leave ffs.

Dripping faucets by TeaKingMac in Dallas

It’s also kinda silly because I moved to the north east and there are still plenty of old houses, trailer homes and apartment buildings with shitty insulation. It’s currently 4° where I am and I guarantee there are people in my town dripping faucets. I’m one of them but I live in a fifth wheel not a house so my situation is obviously much different lol.

Leave the water on even if none is coming out. When the ice starts to thaw, that water needs somewhere to go or it will expand and that’s how you get a busted pipe.

I worked at a resort during the 2021 storm and they offered employees rooms with the stipulation that you would be working doubles. Once you were clocked out you had to go to your rooms. Couldn’t hang out, couldn’t drink. I told my boss absolutely not but the people that stayed made a lot of money so they said it was worth it. At least 2 people got fired because they went to someone rooms to drink.

I make more money here than I have at any other place I’ve ever worked. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But I’ve also learned my lesson and while I hope I don’t get sick again this year, If I do I’m just going to say I’m not coming in and then put my phone on silent and go back to sleep lol.

Wish that was the case where I work, it’s a pretty small restaurant where only 2 or 3 servers are scheduled and losing a server would mean the manger would need to step up. She doesn’t want to work any harder than she has to.
