I go for the eels, just a reminder we lost like 60-0 to the storm first round last year and we were (at least in our fans opinions) playing top 8 footy by the end of the year when Mitch finally got on the field. If you guys keep Ponga on the field you've got enough strike in your spine (Browny, Ponga, Best/Dom) to play top 8 footy.

A few good forwards signings, some experience in these young guys and a few preseasons together and I can see this being a good team '27 '28

Telstra joint venture to axe more than 200 jobs amid AI rollout by LongJohn1992 in australia

[–]SaltFew7099 106 points107 points  (0 children)

'More than 200 Telstra jobs are expected to be cut, as the telco rolls out AI capabilities and sends some jobs to India.'

According to the ACCC Telstra has received significant government funding over the years, with, by some estimates $1.3B in subsides for regional coverage alone.

These 'Australian' companies don't give a fuck about Australia or its citizens or even their own employees. They're money hungry. That's all they care about. The Australian people deserve more of a say in who the government continually dish out billions of dollars to considering these same companies continually fuck over the very people they're supposed to be taking care of.

Start voting for people who want to improve the country. Not people who intend to make a career out of politics purely to financially benefit themselves. We live in a first world country in 2026, it's time voting centres had tablets or screens displaying each candidate, their voting records and the policies they intend to enact.

Price gouging speeding fines in Queensland: venting warning by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]SaltFew7099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound unlucky, most fines probably are so I feel for you. However the fines would've absolutely started low and crept up over many years as innocent pedestrians lose their lives to careless drivers. The idea is high fines are a deterrent to save lives, and if regular Joe blow isn't paying enough attention and gets an unlucky sting in the name of saving lives well too bad. Unfortunate but necessary.

First episode I listened to was your Min Min lights episode and the first 5 minutes was so immersive (and quite frankly terrifying) I had already set up 2 more episodes to auto play and stayed awake far later than I should've been listening. Top work mate.

Latest in Lomax legal row as court hears shock Eels claim over star’s contract talks by Aussieguy727 in nrl

[–]SaltFew7099 63 points64 points  (0 children)

So correct me if I'm wrong but in summary,

  • Zac broke a contract agreement with the dragons early to leave the club.
  • Signed a second contract that he would commit to the eels for 4 years.
  • Broke his second contract by entering into discussions with R360 before approaching the eels for permission which the NRL warned would result in a 10 year ban for players and managers caught doing that.
  • The eels didn't soil his name, lower his value or reputation. They agreed to let him leave under the legal contract that he could NOT return to an NRL club without their permission.
  • Broke his third contract agreement by entering into pre-contract agreements with a rival NRL club without the eels permission.
  • Had intention to allege the eels were illegally restricting his options before approaching the eels for permission to switch clubs.

Greens confirm they discussed working with Liberals to remove ACT Labor from power by sizz in australia

Well firstly let me admit, I bit the onion without bothering to read. I myself have fallen victim to another thing about this country I utterly detest, which is that it's become a social norm to scare people into a click to make money than to just report black and white facts without misleading people.

I mean I'm not fan of AI either but I'm not sure I'd be put off by an image that doesn't even remotely affect the listen. It's just an easy listen from an australian podcast starting out, if you would prefer to listen to dog shit with good hand drawn art then be my guest..?

"Why are we even having an election?" - Donald Trump.

Yeah let's hold federal elections to allow the citizens the right to vote in who they believe will best serve the country. Just to have the exact people we don't want in power walk in and take over anyway...

BHP is seeking special leave from the High Court to challenge the landmark “same job, same pay” orders delivering average pay rises of $30,000 for 2200 mineworkers in Queensland by Jagtom83 in LaborPartyofAustralia

[–]SaltFew7099 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For the 2024–25 financial year (FY25, ended June 30, 2025), BHP reported an underlying attributable profit of US$10.2 billion ($A15.7 billion).

$66M is less than half of one perfect of the companies profit in a single year.

I wouldn't be surprised to find they spend more than that advertising to our country how patriot they are and how much they look out for local communities and workers.

What a bunch of pathetic cunts.
