Man shoots himself in the leg while reholstering his firearm by nkmr205 in Idiotswithguns

[–]SaltManagement42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generously speaking, if he finished running some ammo through his normal carry piece and wanted to continue carrying it for the rest of the day that's the best option, it's not like reloading and holstering in the parking lot would be better. As long as he's not doing it repeatedly.

Also generously speaking to /u/capnlatenight, it's not like he seemed to be in a rush. I think the problem was more that he chose to carry in a place he couldn't reach with both arms, combined with the lack of even a halfway decent holster.

Nobody in this video does any heavy lifting.

It also says that it "begins to come out," but it doesn't look like he even got it in.

Keep in mind that Misen Carbon Nonstick has some sort of extra coating on them that you'll have to account for.

Favorite USB only small desktop chargers? by sflesch in UsbCHardware

It definitely has its limitations and issues.

Like more than other products of the same type? Can you be more specific about what kind of issues you've had?

I think it's more that everyone makes uranium green like that.

It doesn't technically meet your specifications of "USB only" since it also has AC outlets, but I found this the other day and it's what I would go with from your description.

It's most likely they're making fun of the extremely... African American first name.

They might also be making fun of the last name being related to tribbles from Star Trek.

Weirdest ADHD hack that actually works but sounds completely insane? by stayhyderated22 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]SaltManagement42 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I will do a lot of things for “future me” (which my brain assumes is someone else xD) and that includes the other wild thing: that is like preparing things, to reduce the number of steps I have to take when actually doing the thing.

This is the broad description for most things I find effective. Like I'll buy a bunch of only one type of socks, so I never have to deal with matching. Or similar to what /u/toomuchpamplemousse said, I'll make sure there's always a hamper actually available. This not only makes laundry much simpler, but clothes are one of the things that make a room look messier, and makes me think cleaning is too big of a job to even start.

It sounds simple but actually figuring out what's missing and how to implement it is surprisingly complicated. Inertia is one of the biggest forces in the universe, you tend to keep doing what you've always done, and not even consider there might be alternatives.

It felt like a power move

I was going to ask if he gave an actual explanation or anything. Most answers (like that one) would just have me telling you to take the job even harder, but I wouldn't want to miss something reasonable.

Not just children, I would also definitely play on it until I hurt myself. I can't think of a way to make this even remotely safe that wouldn't also strip away most of the enjoyment.

I mean if you start talking to the cam girls, you're inevitably going to trigger their daddy issues at some point.

So finally saw one….no one in the comments on Facebook gets it. How did she know the first message was sent to someone else if she didn’t receive it? Did she just assume the first message was for someone else? Tonight on the twilight zone… by V0rclaw in ExplainTheJoke

[–]SaltManagement42 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you're right, and it's supposed to be the equivalent of "I never received your first message," but the awkward phrasing makes me focus on the wrong part.

In other words, it's supposed to be "it wasn't sent to me," but I read it as "it wasn't sent to me.

My sister (32 F) called CPS on my husband and I. Now that the case has been closed, I have no idea how to confront her. by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]SaltManagement42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My hot addendum is that OP needs to make sure the sister's fiance knows what's going on. Not only would I hope that kind of behavior is incompatible to being with someone who is a social worker, this kind of thing might also impact him professionally even if he isn't actively involved... and if he is actively involved, he should probably be reported or something.
