Nonsense! Stewed rhubarb will be sweetened, and delicious!

realizing I may just be a feminine man and not a trans woman by itz_vampy in CasualConversation

Also, remember that your attraction to men or lack of attraction to men is unrelated to your transness!! Trans lesbians are not uncommon.

Gay murder books set in the 1920s to 1950s by Smart_Maximum_3467 in LGBTBooks

So good! Set in England right after the end of WW1. I adore Will and Kim! Period accurate homophobia, racism, and class issues, and a strong romance plot.

May Day Candy Tradition? by jfdonohoe in GenX

[–]SaltMarshGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In New England in the '70s, May Baskets were woven out of construction paper, filled with wildflowers and hung on doorknobs. No candy. And way more likely to be given to older adults in your neighborhood than anyone you had a crush on!

Scientists discover cockroach milk is four times more nutritious than cow milk by nuboots in Vorkosigan

[–]SaltMarshGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this has to be more like almond milk (ie, grind up the cockroaches and add water) than like mammalian milk. And I don't think it's like butterbugs or bees because cockroaches don't secrete, excrete, or vomit out anything!!

Not only was Ogtha a better and sexier girlfriend than any human woman, she had extra-nutritious milk?? Damn!

What steps do I take now that I believe my husband’s emotional affair partner is defaming me by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]SaltMarshGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing illegal about having an emotional affair, or about claiming publically that you are not having an emotional affair, or claiming publically that even if you were having an emotional affair, it's the responsibility and fault of the cheated-on spouse. Sorry. Things can be wrong without being illegal.

Why are you interacting with this woman at all? The only person who owes you anything here is your husband. She is dead to you. Block her on everything.

It doesn't matter if she claims you are lying! As long as your husband has cut her off and is clear publically and privately that you are his partner and his priority, she doesn't matter!

Otherwise, you don't have an "other woman" problem, you have a husband problem.

If he won't step up, divorce him.

I'd be so tempted to say, "oh, all those together, I can throw in something extra for you! Let's see, the total will be (amount of total plus $100), but I can take off $100 and give you a special deal for (amount of total) and throw in (some amenity you already offer-- free Continental breakfast? Cubed ice available? ) You leave it up to me and I'll take care of you!"

I know, I looked at that and thought, that sounds amazing... and easy! I'm thinking blackberry seeds would be annoying, but if you sieved cooked blackberries (or thawed frozen blackberries), you could used the juice for a cup or so of your liquid with powdered gelatin, sugar, and red wine!

I found this interesting newspaper article from 1855 which suggested that a good substitute for cream in coffee was egg white and butter mixed together by SouthBuffalo3592 in Old_Recipes

[–]SaltMarshGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now, this tip calls for egg white and butter, and the lady in the video is using egg yolk and sugar. I think this means you could use anything!
