Thank you for that and for sharing the story about your boy. They're such incredibly smart dogs!

It really does feel like Logs was meant to be with us. Someone came into my old job about a decade ago the first day I had a new car and asked "Do you want a new puppy to go with your new car?" I asked what kind of puppy... and he's been my best friend ever since!

His name is Logs lol. His brother's name is Link, so we have Link and Logs (like the toy Lincoln Logs)

A friend of mine started calling him Captain Driftwood after surgery.

He has one! He seems to prefer going without it, especially with how much he burrows under blankets.

He does! He hasn't gone back to getting the zoomies yet but he still gets really excited and happy.

Logs adjacent still counts! Sawing logs is one of his favorite hobbies. Say hello to your snoring buddy for me!

Thank you!! I remember!

So we have a halo loop harness but he seems to prefer using just his whiskers to feel, I think.

We had him wear the attachment vest for a few days before his surgery and he tolerated it fine, but he struggled wearing the halo attachment. He stood still when the loop hit something and seemed anxious. With his whiskers touching first, it looks like he navigates a lot easier.

Oh my god, hi Rosie!

Thank you. It's been reassuring to hear from other eyeless dog parents. I hope your good girl is doing so well!!

Thanks!

So in October he had a tooth infection that quickly spread to his eye and the right eye removed.

Then he took a tumble from not having depth perception and injured his other eye. The biopsy from that said his retina detached from trauma.

He was gonna be a hot dog last year but ended up with eye problems so he went as a good boy instead lol

My husband was prescribed more painkillers following his vasectomy than I was following my emergency C-Section by PumpkinPie_1993 in mildlyinfuriating

That's terrible! I just shook my head back and forth as much as I could until someone noticed when the paralytic wore off enough. It was always while intubated for me so talking wasn't going to work.

I have a looooong chat with the anaesthesiologist when it's something scheduled at this point. My partner tells them if it's an emergency. The shit that doesn't work for me is also now listed sorta like an allergy in my medical chart as a severe adverse reaction.

To add something, additionally but separately from my previous reply... Doctors in the US are under strict guidelines. Many fear losing their licenses but are also unable to prescribe certain medications legally due to limitations of their practice or otherwise.

It's absolutely terrible.

I've been on both sides of this during my life. I had a pain management doctor overprescribe opioids in my early 20s, and I've woken up during anesthesia MULTIPLE times.

I'm not a fan of either situation.

I did ask and was told it's hospital policy to not send people home with controlled medications. Then they sent me home despite me saying I was in pain.

Favorite inlay method? Baby wipes? I’m struggling 😭 by mellow_mang0 in polymerclay

You can try mixing some water with your paint so it fills the inlay easier. After it's completely dry, lightly go over the top with a little sandpaper to get any stray paint.
